"Yes, it was interesting reading the books, especially the journals."
Arnold looks towards the dragons.
"Preparing some sort of attack?"

 

"Your friend told us where our prisoner is; with Ihra. We figured we'd kill two birds with one stone; get our prisoner back and erase Virei'tus' last hope."

 

"Ah, that's good. Mind if I come along? I'd like to help you to defeat them and there are also some with Ihra I'd like to help defeat too."

 

"Be my guest; I've been hoping to be released from her service for a while. Success would mean liberation."

 

"Then I'm ready to help when you and your strike force are."

 

"We're waiting for one other group to make sure no harm comes to Xlentia in our absence."

 

"Of course, protecting her is our priority for serving her."

 

The other dragon seems late.
"What's the holdup? Could you go to the entrance of the palace and check it out?"

"You think they're going to try to wait us out?"

"Katie, thank you... I can't remember why they want me."

 

"If you were hostile when we first met...you'd be dead long ago." I say, with a serious tone.

"But the good news is I'm working to defend you!" I say in a lighter tone.

I stab Shadow Katana into the ground, and it releases darkness. The darkness surrounds me and causes me to grow twice my current size.

"I think this should suffice." I say, now standing ten times my original size. Shadow Katana seems menacingly large.

"I have a bad feeling about what's to come. We should be as prepared as possible." Artemis says, before vines surround her. After a short moment, the vines sink back into the ground. Wooden plating resides on Artemis' shoulders, chest, back and knees; as well as a wooden mask covering most of her face.

Stephanie considers summoning a few golems, but decides against it on account of Ihra. She instead summons a few, large Idols; about the same size as her, spread around the area.

Abigail extends her claws; being already prepared.

"There's a chance; so we'll need to be on guard at all times. I know about stealth, so we need to stay wary." I say.


"No problem. A friend of Aj's is a friend of mine." Katie says, smiling.

Katie and Ragnyon stand in a cave deep underground. The walls are lit up with blue light from a pool in it's centre, a pool they recently came out of.

"We're deep enough to make most digging efforts futile; and the tunnels are confusing enough for us to not be found." Katie says.

 

"I hope. I don't know why they want me - my physical body is useless for anyth- oh. They don't want my physical self. Shit."

"That's good- but I just realized something. I bet they want my spirit, that's why the chains were imbued with a null-field. At least I can only serve you like this... Sorry I'm weak."

 

"What do they want with your soul? I'm assuming that's what you mean by 'Non-Physical Self'." I ask.


"Every great warrior was once a weak, vulnerable baby. Just because you're weak doesn't mean you can't become strong!" Katie says.

 

"What? Who? Ragnyon? Is that some expensive dish?"
I scratch my head.
"I guess I could focus in on the energy of that dagger I gave 13. Hmm."

 

"I'm a hybrid; an Aquos Ethereal. They want the spirit part of me bound, my physical body isn't a threat. That's my guess."

"I don't know how much time I have left naturally. I'm an Ancient; over a hundred thousand years in existence. I was never meant to be a warrior."
She looks bitter.
"Thanks for the encouraging words, though."

 

"So the half of you that's an ethereal is standing right here?" I ask.

"Ragnyon, The Last Prophet: Master of Ghostly Water." Abigail announces.


"Well...maybe, if you wanted...Artemis could find you a newer, younger body. She's usually against disturbing spirits and necromancy, but if you really seemed to want that, then I'm sure she could make an exception." Katie says.

Katie suddenly hugs Ragnyon, "I don't want to lose a new friend so soon." She says sadly.

 

"Correct."

"I'll be fine. Thanks for the offer."
She hugs back.
"It's nice not to be hated."

 

"Well, doesn't that make you more vulnerable? You'll be fighting, or rather we'll be defending, the form they want." I ask, slightly confused.


"We all care about you a lot. Under Aj's protection, you won't come to harm." Katie says, hugging tightly.

 

"Yes I will... uhh... what is the name or title you want me to refer to you as?"

 

"I can't control the split."

"Thank you..."

"Call me what I cause - Entropy."

 

"Yes I will, Entropy."
Arnold runs towards the entrance hall.

 

"So you just sync up both bodies so you don't have to worry about it?" I ask, curious.

I suddenly ready Shadow Katana, scanning the area for enemies.


Katie smiles, "Want to play some games to pass the time?" She asks.
