Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

After another quick travel, the display reads "N B32 - Personal Communications Research"

"You see a lot more if you only visit once a week, or once a month."

 

"A lot can change in a month, and it's a shame that you'll miss most of it."

 

Eve puts a palm to her face, frustrated with such a simple mistake. She then inputs S B32.

 

"Yeah. I guess it beats missing all of it, though."

"S B32 - Nanobot and Metananotech Development"

 

Eve steps out of the elevator, looking around.

 

"Got that right. Got atleast something going."

 

Instead of offices, there's three series of blast doors, another deer-creature in a labcoat sitting idly off to the side.
"I was worried you got lost for a bit." They say, voice somewhat higher pitched than the last.

"And it definitely beats being dead for good."

 

"How did you get here so fast?" Eve asks, surprised.

 

"I'm his twin sister." She sighs. "Geez, you sure you'll be able to understand metanano or should we stick with nanotech?"

 

"You look and sound almost exactly alike, as well as seeming to share knowledge. It would be hard not to be fooled, though I apologise." Eve says.

 

"Of course we share knowledge. That's the power of Stella." She sighs. "I'm warning you, we use her extensively in the lab, but everyone does so I'm not sure what else to tell you. She's a free supercomputer, there's no reason not to use her for things like this."

 

Eve takes a few steps back fearfully, terrified for a moment before she seems to calm herself down.

 

"I don't get your problem with her, but whatever. Is it that she used to be human and you hate hum- oh, fine, nevermind. Forget I asked."

 

"I don't want my consciousness taken into something outside of my body, or my consciousness to be copied." Eve says nervously.

 

"The hell did you get that? Digitization preserves the original. She doesn't just make backups of people whenever she wants, that costs a fortune!"

 

"I don't want to get digitized and sorted away in a file!" Eve says, fear making her cry.

 

"Othersouls can't even be digitized! We've been using FTL to get you around, and she doesn't even store us anyways!"

 

Eve just shakes her head in fear, terrified as she holds herself close in absence of someone else.

A few moments later, Eve seems to become completely calm, returning to a normal stance and removing the tears from her cheeks. She looks at the deer-creature emotionlessly, seeming to be waiting to be prompted.

 

"I take it no emotions means you're ready to go in and have a look around?"

 

"I am prepared to study your advancements in nanotechnology." Eve nods, voice still sounding human, yet emotionless.
