Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

After a couple minutes, a portal opens near Eve.
“That’ll bring you to their main facility. Here’s an access card, you’ll need it to not trip security.” Idhaenna says, dropping a laniard above Eve.

 

Eve takes the lanyard, before stepping through the portal.

 

As she arrives, a group of furred kobold-like creatures walks towards the exit of the building.
She can overhear a bit of their conversation:
“Damn, she’s old.”
“Stone age, or one of those novelty pieces?”
“I dunno? Whoever built her put some decent regenerative stuff in her.”
“Can’t reform a pile of ash and dust, heh.”
“You moron, we all know what happened last time we underestimated tech...”

 

Eve narrows her eyes at the creatures as she continues onward.

 

The building has extremely high ceilings, a bright moon visible through the glass ceilings as she approaches a security gate.
“You got a reason to be here, miss?” A centaur-ish metallic creature asks, seeming beyond bored with their post.

 

Eve holds up the lanyard.

"I believe this should suffice." Eve says.

 

The guard's finger turns into a small scanner, which predictably beeps after a moment.
"...Oh, you're the guest. Alright, elevators are to the right, you're looking for B32. If you prefer using your jet boots, droptubes are to the left." They say, scratching the back of their neck.

 

Eve enters, turning left to observe the droptubes while also scanning the environment around her.

 

"Nothing particular. Assuming this town is the same as the previous one, there won't be much difference. We can just walk around and chat a bit if you don't mind."

 

The lobby seems to be fairly simple, greys and soft blues lining the walls. The carpets occasionally have "Galsce" on them, in case you forgot where you were maybe?

The droptubes are essentially pipes standing vertical. There are floors above Eve, and she can't see the bottom of the droptube.

"Sure, I'm on break soon anyways." She shrugs. "I'll just take it early."

 

Eve takes note of her environment, before checking a droptube to make sure nobody else is using it.

 

The droptube she's in front of is empty, but the one next to it has someone going up the same time as someone dropping down.

 

Eve watches to see what happens when the two collide.

 

They don't. Neither looks fazed by the pass, either.

The guard glances back at Eve.
"What're you waiting for? Y'even got an empty drop."

 

"I am concerned about the terms of this droptube's use. Mainly the fact that collision with another user is highly likely." Eve says.

 

"Then use the elevator."

 

Eve heads to the elevator, calling it.

 

The door just opens as she approaches, a keypad visible within.

B E W N L"
There's also a delete key, enter key, and a display above the keypad that currently reads "Enter Target Floor".

 

Curious, Eve attempts to spell out "WEB". She rests her free hand against the side of the elevator, shifting some of her weight toward it.
