Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"So, you probably noticed I don't have a soul, or a life per se. That's because I'm an ancient weapon... like, ancient as in forged when the reality was created. I'm looking for a wielder who will use me to keep order instead of create chaos, but until I have a wielder, I cannot control my brutal strength. One punch, and I could send this planet into the sun - and that isn't the extent of my strength." She sighs, seeming embarrassed.

 

"Did you originally belong to Terra?" The forest guardian asks, curious.

 

"No, no, I'm from the other reality. I just heard of Terra, and that earth guardians use gauntlets. I'm a pair of gauntlets. The real problem is, though, I was built to kill high gods in case they went out of control. That's why I want to belong to Gaia's most trusted child... but I fear she will want to seal me, since I was built to slay the aspect of life. I'd much rather have a wielder who seeks to protect something so vital, but I suppose another planetary cycle of slumber would be a fitting punishment for all my accidental damage."

 

"Interesting...I suppose it isn't my place to judge. Come, I'm sure Gaia will be understanding." The forest guardian says, entering the church and holding the door open for Fable.

 

Fable enters, nodding.
“Thanks.” She whispers.

 

Many forest guardians seem to be praying on pews, while some come and go from a room at the back of the church. The forest guardian leads Fable to the back rooms, treading silently. Pictures depicting Gaia seem to frequent the walls of the church, a priest meditating at the lectern.

 

Fable follows, footsteps becoming silent.

 

"But you still don't know where to find him, correct?"

 

Fable is lead into a room with large flowers, some closed and some open.

"Meditate on one of these. It will help you connect to the world." The forest guardian says, gesturing to the flowers.

 

“He’s gravely wounded, being healed. I saw him, but it’s best not to disturb him right now.”

“Any of the open ones?” Fable asks, approaching the flowers uneasily.

 

The forest guardian nods, staying near Fable.

The flowers look soft and smell sweet.

 

She climbs onto one using her elbows instead of hands, then sits in a meditative pose and looks at the petals.

 

The petals start to slowly curl up towards her, the flower closing. The forest guardian seems to have positive body language as this happens.

 

Fable lets hit happen, keeping her hands in her lap.

 

The flower closes completely, before Fable feels a liquid begin to fill the flower. Once submerged, Fable begins to feel...connected. She can sense the beings in the flowers near to her, and the forest guardian waiting outside. She can feel the trees and the raindrops hitting their leaves. She can sense the largest animals running in the forest, and the tiniest plant beginning to sprout. The connection expands until Fable feels one with everything around her.

 

"Uh... how do I do this?" She asks no one in particular.

 

She feels many mental connections open to her, all focusing into one.

"What are you confused about, child?" A voice asks.

 

"What happened? Did he walk through the thorns again?"

 

"I don't know what I'm supposed to do to reach out to Gaia." She responds, still confused.

'
"Well, he's missing a wing, so I'm going to guess something worse happened. Also, I meant to say I saw him like that in the real world, not here."

 

"What have you done so far?" The voice asks.
