Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The air guardian points to a bookshelf up a short, wide stairway. A small tab labelled 'History' pokes out from it.

 

"Bardock. I'm a relative of your guard, apparently."

 

Fable heads towards the shelf, looking along the book spines for a mention of Terra.

“A werewolf?” They ask, a large snake head peeking out of the pile of bedding.

 

"Yeah."

 

They seem to be a serpent-person, hands shuffling some of the bedding out of the way as they slither towards you.
"Fybus was always one to hope for the best. What's your name?"

 

"Bardock, like I said. But weren't you supposed to be a werewolf aswell?"

 

Fable ends up finding a set of books with spines that create a picture of six different guardians. Fable first notices "Terra: A Legend." though the five other books mention the other guardians. "Aer: A Legend.", "Aqua: A Legend.", "Ignis: A Legend.", "Vita: A Legend." and "Mors: A Legend." complete the whole set; an awful lot of reading to learn about them all.

 

Fable glances back at the air guardian to see if they came.
"Could you get the set out about Terra, please?"

"Why couldn't I be?" They say, slithering over.

Fybus walks in behind you.
"Sorry about that, something got stuck in the stoneworks."

 

The air guardian nods, reaching for the book about Terra. However, their hand just phases right through the shelf.

 

Fable seems a bit unsure.
"Is that... normal?"

 

"Sure, no problem.. sis."

"You're the Mayor then?"

 

The air guardian sighs.

"I guess I'm dead..." The air guardian says.

 

"Only half dead, apparently."

She smirks, heading off to chat with the other guards.

"Yes, my name is Rthel. You must be new here."

 

"Half dead?" The air guardian asks, looking at their spectral form.

 

"You're a spirit that can be seen in the physical plane, I think. Which is uncommon."

 

"Nobody else seems to notice me though..." The air guardian says, depressed.

 

"Well, maybe you are dead... but still, you're here."
Pause.
"Do you by chance remember what happened to you?"

 

"I...remember saying goodbye to my love. I had to leave, and she said she'd wait for me. Then..." The air guardian struggles to remember, becoming frustrated.

"Nothing." The air guardian sighs.

 

"Well, kind of new. I've visited a town nearby, which might be the same town."

 

"Do you remember where you live or left from?"

"They all look the same, and none of them are. It's just dream world things, that some things are familiar when in fact you're lost."
