Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I raise my nonexistent eyebrows in amazement, but continue to stand and stare.

"I don't know. I though that you might..."

 

"I... it can't be my species... nobody... except Ihra... we're all created..." She looks something between confused, scared, and ready to accept death.

 

"You have pets?"

 

"Yeah, but they all died, but I don't want them dead, so they're not." Her mood shifts again to contentness.

 

"Wait, so you think that it might be your species?.."

 

"It's that or a dragon; I can't tell the difference. I'm hoping for... ehh... I'd rather it be a dragon. And then I hope it can breathe ice or poison." She trails off, stepping back.
The room gets a bit colder than usual.

 

"Ow!" I drop the egg, and there is a crack in it, which is slowly getting bigger. It gets even colder, and a bit of ice forms around the egg.

 

"Ah, shoot... please tell me I didn't kill it... I beg your forgiveness..."

 

"Umm.. I think it's hatching." The egg falls apart, and a baby ice dragon falls out.

 

"R-right... it... it looks s0... so helpless... I..."
She's tearing up.
"Th... We send these... n-no... Why..."

 

"What? Why are you stammering?" I ask in surprise.

 

"We... uhm... He used to get rid of these...? Nyre, I swear I'm going to... Rrgh..."
She's kneeling on the ground and nervously holds her hand out to the hatchling. It's clear she has no experience with youth.

It eyes her hand awkwardly as it tries to remain upright.
"I... Forgive me, I've... uh... i-it's already obvious, isn't it? This is new..."

 

"Umm... Ok..." I look at her with a strange glance. "There is just one question I want to ask you. Is it a dragon or a Draconian?.."

 

"It's... I don't know. It's not really something any of us who come here would know, except maybe one."
It stumbles towards her as ice forms on her hand.

 

I turn to my healer. "Thank you for healing Ihra. I'll take you back to Nyme, unless you wish to stay."

 

"Should I... Help you with that?"

 

"Thank you for your offer, but all due respect, I do hope to ask a few questions before I go."
She bows, her composure a bit shaky at requesting something from a god.

"I don't know what I'm doing, same for it. How do youth work?"
She turns to you, still looking overwhelmed.
"If you want to take over, just say so."

 

"Yes... you may ask. I suppose I should at least answer some of your questions. Or if I can't answer them, then there are others here who may be able to."

 

"I have no experience with dragons, but it might just about behave like other children..." I recite an incantation, and the floor below us moves down into an empty room. "You know, I could make something for it." I magically make a small iceberg appear.
