Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Thank you, tell your husband I appreciate letting me stay here!" Fable says, heading out the door and trying to follow the instructions to the library... already having forgot everything but the clocktower bit.

As you walk, you see other guards on the other side of the floor, standing upside down as some other dreamers have a meal on a table that defies gravity, the group eating as if the wall was the floor.

 

The rain floods Fable, any guardians either rushing through to get inside or, in the case of water guardians, basking in it. Fable seems to be in a residential area, the library not likely to be too close.

 

"Ugh... so disorienting."

 

She walks up to a water guardian, unfazed.
"Excuse me, which way to the library?" She asks.

"When I said stay straight, I meant it."

 

The water guardian points down the road.

"Just down that way. Take your second right, then continue on and take your first left. You should be able to see its clocktower by then." The water guardian explains.

 

Fable nods.
"Thanks."
She follows the directions given, looking up immediately after taking the left.

 

Fable almost walks into a depressed air guardian as she looks up; the clocktower visible just over a field grown in the mountains.

"Oh...sorry..." The air guardian says, sounding as if they've given up entirely.

 

"...right. No going onto the walls."

 

"No, that's on me, I should've looked. Are you okay?"

Fybus runs ahead up a staircase.
"I gotta go unlock the door. Staying off the walls is good enough, if you manage to get lost I'll come find you." She says before disappearing around a corner.

 

"No...I'm looking for my love, but I can't find her anywhere..." The air guardian says sadly.

 

"Just gotta go straight, right?!"

He follows her around the corner and continues walking straight ahead.

 

"What's her name?" Fable asks, sidetracked.

The doors are... above you.
"Yeah, don't climb the wall." She says, turning a key as the walls start to shift around you.

 

"But how do I get up there then?"

He starts jumping.

 

"Aelia." The air guardian says.

 

"Stop moving!" She shouts at you, the door creaking open as the floor partially opens beneath you.

"I'll try asking around." Fable offers. "I'm going to the library to look for Terra, but after I'll see if my friend knows anything about their whereabouts."

 

"Can I come with you?" The air guardian asks.

 

"Sure. If you don't mind... I actually need someone to, like, open doors for me. See, if I touch something with my hands, it... kinda goes flying."

 

The air guardian nods, seeming submissive.

 

Fable starts walking forward, then hesitates.
"Are you, uh, sure you want to come?"

 

The air guardian nods again, quiet.
