Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"You're blind?" The earth guardian asks, surprised.

 

"No, no, I can see just fine. It's just... not light. I guess some people would call it true sight, being impervious to illusions."

"Hey, I'm still here, aren't I? You were tricked, not your fault."

Ted steps towards you, seeking attention (or another command).

 

"Strange. So you just can't see differences in light levels?" The earth guardian asks, another flash and roar of thunder shaking the house.

 

He cries a bit.
"That might be true. But you're still dead. I still killed my family!"

 

Voidfiller goes down of one knee, using both hands to scratch Ted's face.
"You're a good boy. Go on and play with the other dogs."

 

She shakes her head.
"It's very limited. If I look at a filament bulb, I can see the red wire. If I look at a magic light, I can see the source of magic. If I look at a star, I see its surface."

Ted wags his tail before running off towards the nearest, smaller dog.

She hugs you.
"Fate is cruel, but it isn't over. I might be dead, but I'm not gone. I think I can still come back... but I won't. I won't be the same, then."

 

Voidfiller cracks a smile before walking off to sit back down.
A littler Yorkshire Terrier comes jaunting over to investigate just what Ted is.

 

Ted smells mostly like a dog... and fire, and ash, and soot.
Ted sniffs at them, albeit much taller.

 

The Terrier tries to lick Ted on the chin playfully.
Ted can hear Voidfiller chatting with the other people.

 

"Are you talking about reincarnation?"

 

"How odd. It seems like you're only able to see reflected light." The earth guardian says.

 

"Even then, still weird. You can put mirrors on both sides of me, and I can only see a single reflection." She shrugs.

"Yes and no. See... I don't have a human form anymore. If I found another host, then... yes."

Ted's fur tastes like cave dirt, grass, and soot.
He licks the terrier back, his tongue about as warm as the midday sun beating down on the dog.

 

The dog, slightly less comfortable, runs away playfully, promoting a chase from Ted.

 

"How do you mean? Take over when someone is sleeping?"

 

Ted does indeed chase him, though it doesn't last long seeing how he's both faster and more agile.

"Yes, it's not unheard of for dreamers to seek to become something else."

 

"That's sick."

 

The earth guardian just looks lost.

 

Fable shakes her head.
“It’s all weird. I stopped trying to understand it a few planetary cycles ago.”

“They’re willing. It’s impossible to force it upon someone unknowingly.”

 

There's another strike of lighting, this one sounding much closer. The earth guardian looks out the window at the rain.

"I suppose the lightning rod is getting it's use." The earth guardian comments, mostly to herself.

 

The Terrier dodges to the side when Ted comes close, having fun with running and weaving around trees.
