Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The guardian heads back to his quiet home, unlocking the door and heading inside. It's much darker within the home than outside, and the guardian treads silently.

 

The golem just watches, his hands out and almost itching to take the bowl away.

 

“Some of us are still here.” She says, smiling.

Her footsteps are quiet but not silent, and she’s unfazed by the darkness.
“I don’t want to touch the door.”

Ted ignores the golem, wolfing down the food.

 

"What about the others? What happened to my brothers and sisters?"

 

The guardian just silently leads Fable to the guest room, opening the door for her to reveal a bed.

 

The golem leans in further, waiting for Ted to finish.

 

“One didn’t make it, the others I haven’t seen. You’re the first I’ve found.”

The golem only has to wait a few minutes for that.

Fable heads in and sits on the bed, laying down.
“Thanks again.”

 

"Who didn't make it?"

 

The golem snatches the bowl away quickly, jogging back to the now-almost-finished house.

 

The guardian raises his hand in 'no problem' gesture, remaining quiet as he closes the door.

 

“I don’t know. They were... too mangled.”

Ted watches the golem for a bit before approaching the house and sniffing around.

Fable stares at the ceiling, thinking.

 

The ceiling is white, no patterns on it. The house is silent, the only noise heard from the occasional creak of a pipe or thump of a floorboard.

 

Fable mumbles a bit to herself, seeming to repeat a few lines over and over. Anyone listening in would be able to hear her, but barely -
“Terra, mostly stories... Gaia, made to kill... Can’t touch anything... Why’d they kill Chronos... They can’t be here, can they?...”

 

Morning comes far later than expected, and a dim light shines through closed curtains. The sound of heavy rain hitting the window can be heard.

 

"Oh god.. what happened to them?"

 

Voidfiller’s lounging in the same chair as golems scuttle around the house with building materials, fixing up holes in the walls or doors.

 

Fable looks up at the door, faking a yawn.

Ted walks over and pants steam at you, content.

“It’s best you don’t know.” She sighs.

 

"Right."

"So... to get away from the subject, do you know anything about the mayor of this place? I need to talk to him."

 

The door is closed, patterns running through it's wooden surface.

 

“Hey there little buddy.”
An exhausted Voidfiller reaches down a claw to scratch Ted.
“You doin’ okay?”
