Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Fable can't see anything in the water, but a dim glow reveals the presence of a small faerie hiding under the overhang.

 

"Stiiiill rollin'."
The giant shakes his hand up and down before clenching it into a fist, grinning.

 

“It’s okay, I don’t blame you... nobody sticks with me long.” She sighs.

“Good.” She laughs. “Just a tip, that hand’s strong enough to block blades and arrows. Might scratch it a bit, but that’s it. Don’t punch your boss too hard, alright?”

 

The faerie looks scared, seeming intimidated just by Fable's comparative size to her.

 

“Here, I’ll get moving. It’s all I ever do...” She sighs, getting up and leaving the village, wandering aimlessly away.

 

The faerie follows her at a bit of a distance, curiosity mixing with fear.

 

Fable never turns around or notices, trudging on.

 

A figure rushes past Fable in the darkness, bumping into her in what seems like a half-hearted attempt to knock her down.

 

The giant chuckles lowly.
"Good to know that I'll be coping him outta some money by not telling him."

 

The figure feels like they just slammed into an unmovable wall, Fable lazily glancing off to the side and sighing.

“Oh, he’s one of those people. Fantastic.”

 

The figure clutches their shoulder in slight pain, before getting up and continuing on. There's a flash of blue light, before the sound of greedy laughter.

 

"He's horrible. Runs a good business, but horrible nonetheless."

 

Fable snaps out of her trance.
“Who’s there?” She asks, uneasy.

“Okay, maybe punch him for me.”

 

A figure stands behind Fable holding a glass bottle, the faerie following her trapped inside and pounding on the glass, though looking like they're getting weaker by the second. The figure's face and body is partially illuminated by the faerie's glow, and they stare down at it with an evil smirk.

 

Fable sends a single shockwave punch faster than the blink of an eye towards the figure, slamming them into a tree at mach 2 and turning the glass bottle into dust, the fae inside being blown into the trees but at a much less dangerous speed.

 

"He's also my employer. I'll try an' sneak one in for ya."

 

“I mean, I could just psyblast him, or- wait, no, I’ll wipe his memory that you have a prosthetic!”

 

The figure just explodes into a bloody mess when they hit tree, some organs wrapping around it.

The faerie falls out of the tree extremely dazed. Their glow seems weaker, and they appear to have crossing lines of red burn marks all over their exposed skin; blood coming through in some parts.

 

Fable catches them, worried.
“It’ll be okay, they’re gone now.” She whispers, starting to head back to the village.

 

"Whud'at do? Well, wipe his memory, obviously, but in the long run."
