Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I wouldn't want to annoy one of the fighters." One of the other Earth Guardians - a rather strong looking one at that - says.

The trio of Earth Guardians gestures for Katie and Fable to follow them, the streets of their town flat and solid. The ground feels pleasant to walk on, no bumps or stones strewn randomly; rather ironic for a town of Earth Guardians.


The half-spider follows, soon reaching the top too.

The figure can see Shadow Stephanie facing off against what looks like a beast many times her size. Her eyes flare demonic, and she appears behind the beast and slides down it's back with her knife, the beast roaring and seeming to rotate it's body as if it were segmented. Shadow Stephanie is picked up and promptly kicked into the wall of the colosseum, crowds cheering as she pulls herself out of the hole she made.

Two parts of the colloseum catch the figure's eye. Near to him, a large cloaked figure sits on a giant throne, only the strongest looking denizens of hell able to sit remotely near to him. Across from the cloaked figure, there's a large booth with a screen on top. A pair of incubi - amused by the battle - commentate on what's happening. They also seem to share life stories and tell jokes from time to time, the audience amused by both. Around the top of the colosseum are more half-spiders and other creatures, one of the half-spiders cradling another creature wrapped up in her web like a baby, who doesn't seem to particularly mind; or is simply too terrified to try and fight back. What looks like half-scorpions patrol around the top too, seeming to either warn the creatures or sting them and throw them off. Somehow, it feels like they won't be much hassle for the figure.

 

“I’ll explain my concerns later. How do I arrange a fight?”


They glance at the half-spider.
“Can I get into the arena from above, or must I go through the gates?”

“I sent an illusion to speak with you, silly.” The fae says, fading.

 

The giant smiles, standing guard by the portal.

 

After two minutes of seeing nobody, the two draconians approach you.
“Anyone else evac yet?”

 

"Not yet, no."
The giant shakes his head, having been mindlessly petting Ted.

 

"Ask the referee and he'll pair you up." The first Earth Guardian says.


"You can, but I wouldn't advise you to do it. There's a reason most of us stay on the wall." The half-spider says.

 

“Where’s he at?”


“The shadow woman is at my mercy. She knows my strength, and she seeks to meet my demands for six worthy champions whose blood will wash away my tarnish.”

Ted curls up on your lap again.
“You want us to cover for you? You seem preoccupied.”

 

"Ya could, but I'm feeling sickly anyways, so there's not much point in trying to get up to battle..."
The giant takes a good look at himself.
"Though, some time would be nice..."

 

“Get out, you’re not doing much sitting around.” They sigh.

 

"I figure not doing much is part of watching."
The giant argues, unmoving.

 

“How do you plan to stop anyone cloaked if you’re sitting there?”

 

The giant makes a thick, wooden staff to lift himself up, then he moves a bit, and plops down again right in front of the portal.
"There we go."

 

They both laugh.
The dryad you started with smacks you upside the head with her bow.
“Great, now either go or move.” She snaps, annoyed.

 

"I just did- whatever."
The giant lifts himself up with the staff again, moving a few paces out of the way and continuing to stand.

 

“Out of the way, doghand. You know what I meant.”

 

The Earth guardians head off into town, Katie following as she glances at Fable.


"You've got power over the currently winning champion?" The half-spider asks, shocked.

 

The giant raises an eyebrow and leans against the wall.
"So, I'm outta the way."

 

Fable follows, glancing at Katie as well.


“She gives me the blood of six worthy champions outside of her dominion, or I work against her. Anyone I kill loses their soul. No god can touch it after me.”

She waves, leaving.
“Always an attitude with her...” One draconian sighs.

 

The giant chuckles.
"Are you sticking around?"

 

“Not to say we don’t trust you, but-“
“Yep.”
