Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Where is he?"

 

The giant lets it hit him.
"I'll hang back."
He nods, doing just that.

 

"Well, just don't touch anything." Katie says, laughing lightly.


The colosseum is extremely tall, and the figure's leap seems to fall short.

"Psst." The figure hears from near to him.

 

“That’s... kinda hard when I’ve got no magic to keep me afloat.” Fable chuckles.


They turn, not falling back down to the ground.

“I’ll open the portal out near you, then. Try to keep it from destabilizing, would you?”

I dunno, I was hoping you’d know. Looks like one giant black box to me. Maybe it’s a nightmare?

 

The giant nods in a tired understanding.

 

A portal opens, though it’s not big enough for you to walk through.
“Don’t pass out, we can’t carry you.”

 

Katie smiles.

One of the Earth guardians walks over.

"We have a fighting ring. The matches aren't on until this evening, but you're free to get yourself situated there." The Earth guardian says.


At first it looks like a woman, though her lower half is quickly revealed to be that of a spiders. She scuttles up the wall to where the figure is.

"I can help you get up there if you want." The half-spider says.

 

The giant looks through and creates a portal to the same place, connecting the two so he can fit.
"I can carry myself."
He smiles before walking through.

 

"But.. Ragnyon was there, so why would it be a nightmare?"

 

“Thought you were staying?”

“Mind showing me the way? Also, how strong is the ring? I don’t want to shotgun the audience with bits of rocks or metal or anything.”


“Knowing it’s possible to climb up is enough.” They say in their deep, static-ridden voice before leaping up the same vertical distance from midair until they reach the top.

I dunno. Because it’s all dark and stuff? Aren’t nightmares dark too?

 

"Portal's for others?"

 

“I can only hold one, so yeah.”

 

"Mmm."
The giant steps away from the portal and closes his, nodding.

 

“Appreciated. If it gets unstable, break the acorn and I’ll close it before feedback gets me.”

 

The giant takes the acorn.
"All right."

 

"Doesn't have to be, but they are most of the times."

 

“Most of all, don’t let the enemy through. I mean, I don’t really need to explain that, do I?”

What else is super dark? A giant cave? It doesn’t have dirt walls, though.

 

The giant shakes his head.
"We've got this."

 

“I’ll try to get them back quick. Twelve of us left alive, so hopefully you can count.”

 

The giant glares and smiles.
"Well, are you going now, or tomorrow?"
He jokes.
