Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Katie thinks for a moment.

"Earth Guardians sometimes like to fight with fists!" Katie says happily.

 

“Bring me to your home, and we’ll just keep my whole godslayer schtick a secret. I haven’t had a good round of hand-to-hand in... well, ever.”

 

"Alright." Katie nods happily, heading back to where she entered through the portal.

 

Fable follows, looking at Emerald in the distance who seems to be taking notes.

 

Katie heads back to the Realm of Shadows, before going to her beach on Earth.

 

Fable keeps following her, taking in the sights silently.

 

There's a few sand castles built on the beach, as well as arrangements of stones and driftwood. Dry seaweed lines the water's edge and gulls fly about in the air. The entire beach seems to be closed in by a cliff, a candlelit cave in the middle as well as smaller caves with less lighting. Rockpools reside on the edges of the beach near to the cliffs looking healthy and full of life. A salty air washes in from the sea, picking up bits of sand with it.

"I'm not really sure where the nearest Earth Guardian village is, actually." Katie says, looking up at the cliffs.

 

“I could make a few small tremors. They might come to us.”

 

"We should do that inland. I don't want a cave in." Katie says worriedly, looking at the caves.

 

Joy.

The giant closes the portal, which tightens around the guard before closing and cutting off his lower body, which the giant then throws at the lance-users.

 

"I couldn't find him. I assumed he went here."

 

“No, he hasn’t shown yet, and the guards are staying on the lookout for dragons.”

They seem unfazed by this, and they march forward in a perfect line with the remains of the other guard on their lances - seems you’ve attracted enough attention for the Hive Master to take manual control.

“Oooh, that’s why I always fall in sinkholes...” Fable says, genuinely surprised.

 

"What happens when they find him?"

 

The nails fling from the giant’s teeth, the object blocking his mouth suddenly being flung out alongside the nails.
“Everyone oughtta back the hell up.”
He warns everyone.

 

Katie heads toward the candelit cave, footprints being left in the sand.

 

Fable doesn’t leave any footprints despite being many times heavier than Katie.
“What’re the little wax torches called?”

Your squad obeys, along with half of the blockade, the other half charging at you with a wall of shields.

“They’ll just keep an eye on him. If he starts trying to terrorize someone, then the guard will step in.”

 

The giant reaches into a portal behind him and jerks out what seems to be an astoundingly large quilt, draping it over and blinding those who charged him. He then closes the portal and opens another, pulling out a vial.

 

The guards work at cutting through the quilt before one opts to torch it.

 

The giant motions for his comrades to stay back, preparing to down the contents of the vial once the guards get free.

 

"Good to know he won't be locked up when spotted."
