Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“Yeah, yeah.”
The giant catches up to the group, inspecting the barrier.

 

He scratches the back of his head.

"Eh.. my, uhm.. my father. Or maybe both of my parents."

 

They toss Shadow Stephanie one of their dagger claws.
“I will return here in two weeks. If you need me before then, kill someone and twist the dagger into their skull.”

It’s an obsidian-coated stone blockade.

Rema pauses.
“I... don’t know if I’ll be able to find them tonight. I can try.”

 

The giant pushes on it and knocks on it, testing it out.

 

"Thank you for trying."

 

She nods, continuing to stir.
"Locating a distant spirit is hard, so I might need a few days to make what I need. Plus medicine, I do need to make doses regularly."

It doesn't budge, and knocking on the obsidian cracks the coating to form razor edges.

 

"You need to take care of Gram and the wyvern. I understand that, don't worry."

 

Shadow Stephanie desummons the dagger the moment she catches it, before walking off with Eve.

 

"I suggest you gather your sacrifices sooner over later. Come up short, and we won't necessarily find out if your cat has any more lives."

"I do want you to know there's a chance that their spirits are also gone. If that's the case, I obviously can't let you speak to them."

 

"Trust me, I know where to find champions to sate your bloodthirst." Shadow Stephanie says, turning, before disappearing through a portal to the Realm of Shadows with Eve.

 

Nobody goes through to the Realm of Shadows from the Void.

 

Katie enters a portal into the void palace, heading toward the portal room as she skates across ice.

 

The portal room’s set to Idhaenna’s palace, a furred kobold-like creature nervously pacing about visible on the other side.

 

Katie tries switching the portal to Gaia's palace.

 

It does so, except there’s just stone and silence visible from the other side.

 

He sighs.
"Yeah.. I understand."

 

The cave falls silent for a moment, save the slow movement of the liquid in the cauldron.

“Sometimes I wonder if there was some way to bring a spirit back. Give them life again. Then again, maybe there’s a reason nobody’s found one yet.”

 

"I've wondered the same, but they're at a better place. That's what most of us hope anyways."

 

The giant opens a portal and sticks his hands through, and looks to Ted while he's digging.
"Got anything?"
He tries to communicate with Ted.

 

Katie steps through, looking around and holding her double-trident close.
