Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“Hmm, you sort of reminded me of the queen of hell back at home.” She says, smiling at Mortius briefly.

There’s a t-intersection ahead, but it’s about a minute’s walk out.
“He’s a damn dog. What are you gonna do, read his food-driven mind?”

Ted sniffs the air a bit, looking to the left.

Anne nuzzles you.
“Isn’t that the point of love?”

 

"It is part of it, yeah."
He nuzzles back.

 

“Plus, nobody can see you blush through your fur.” Siln says, chuckling.

 

"Thank you." Naomi says, blushing cutely.

Mortius manages to put Naomi in check, not paying attention to Idhaenna.

 

(I should probably transform back.)
"Yeah, but it's okay if people see me blush. So.."

I transform back to human form.

 

Anne hops off your shoulder while you transform, hopping back on afterwards.
Siln smiles.
“Well, thanks for the pie. You two didn’t have to do that, you know.”

Idhaenna glances back at the board.
“Oh, by the way, Mortius, the two succubi working in the Chronoseum are doing very well. Have they returned home yet, or no?”

 

"That's exactly what I'm going to do."
The giant says, following Ted's direction by looking to the left as well.
"What's down there, boy?"
He whispers to Ted.

 

"No." Idhaenna hears in her mind, the voice sending chills down her spine.

"Jennifer and Maria right? People were pretty mad when they left." Naomi says.

 

His tail wagging slows and his ears flatten against his head as you make him face to the left.

“Oh great, and he’s a compass.” She mutters.

“Hmm... I need to talk to Xlentia about it. I wrote up their contract myself, they should have one day out of every week free to go home. And yes, those two are them. Xlentia somehow caught wind of them, I guess, and thought they’d be a good addition to the Chronoseum. I admit, their commentary is pretty good for those who can’t see the bigger fights.”

 

The giant slowly shifts his positioning, making Ted look down the other hall to check what he does.
"This is the best dog I've ever had."

 

“Don’t tell me you’re going to keep it...”
Ted relaxes a bit, looking over to the left.

 

"...I'll decide that later."
The giant carefully scratches Ted behind the ears.
"Either way, there's certainly something of concern down the left path."

 

Ted’s ears relax, but his tail continues to wave slowly.
“Well, let’s see if your hand-dog is stupid or not.” The dryad sighs, starting down the left.

You can hear coughing in the distance, but it’s a faint echo.

 

"That's why nobody wanted them to leave. They got replaced with a couple of incubi, that play off this idea that one's grumpy, and the other's 'not so' grumpy. People didn't like them at first, but they've since become pretty popular." Naomi explains.

 

The giant starts following the dryad, taking longer and slower steps to silence himself.

 

“Shame. Maybe I’ll remind them they can go home, they do deserve a bonus after the Sivius fights three days ago.”

Ted suddenly barks.
The dryad jumps, accidentally firing.
“Stupid dog...”
Ted barks again, looking down.

 

"It'll be nice to see them again." Naomi says happily, moving herself out of check.

 

The giant carefully puts his fingers over Ted's snout, silencing him, before listening for footsteps.

 

"Ah. It was a thanks for the trouble."

 

Idhaenna nods.
“Well, I’m sorry to bother you in the middle of a game, Mortius. I might have to skip out on visiting Gaia... I’m starting to cut it close.” She says, looking at her bracelet. “And a queue of 472... there’s no way that many overrides were neccesary, and Stella knows that...” She grumbles, looking confused.

“Oh, I appreciate it. You two were no trouble at all, though.”

Ted tries to push your hand up before Erre skewers a guard on the ceiling with a lance.
“Good dog.” He mumbles.
