Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"They have a tendency to...skew the meaning of things. Gaia's guardians appear to be much more intelligent, however. They know the truth." Caelia says, smiling.


The beast's shaggy, muddied hair over it's eyes appears to have blocked Fenira's attack, the beast charging.

 

“That’s the only thing I have against staying out of touch with mortals. Most of them see to believe... or they just faint.” She shrugs.


She hesitates before sweeping her gaze towards it feet, its legs turning to stone.

It stumbles before growling at you, its fur flaring up and filling the tunnel with thick smoke.

 

"I find that aspect somewhat amusing." Caelia says, holding back light laughter.


The beast tries to move it's legs, struggling.

 

“The best part of that is seeing the ones who don’t just do what the others do. The outliers are always the most fascinating.


Fenira stomps towards the beast, growling.

 

The giant raises a foot and smashes its tail, opening a portal to send it back if it runs away.

 

Stomping it causes it to splash into a ball of magma, reforming with the caltrops sticking out of its fur.

It’s hard to see it, the smoke is so thick. The dryad coughs, backing up.

 

The giant steels itself, creating a large gust of wind to push the smoke down the hall.

 

"I always find it endearing when one prays to me. Gaia seems to be the most popular." Caelia says calmly.


The beast opens it's mouth, a long, heavy tongue erupting and smashing the ground near to Fenira.

 

As the winds push the smoke back, the hound charges at the giant, the dryad with a nocked arrow ready but hesitant to fire.

 

The giant holds back its weapon, holding out his gooped hand and trying to catch the hound.

 

“Yeah, earth and life tend to be among the most appreciated... especially when your Gaia also represents fire, water, air, and such.”


Fenira petrifies the tongue, then turns to leave.

It bites into the goop before its anger turns to fear. Despite this, its fangs inject magma into the giant’s hand.

 

The giant cringes as the hound his now stuck, by the snout, to the giant's hand.
"...Got him."
He holds it out to the dryad.

 

She shakes her head.
“If I shoot, it’ll reform.”

The hound whines repeatedly, struggling a bit.

 

"If I swipe while you shoot it, I might be able to catch most of its magma-self on my hand, sticking it further."
The giant suggests.

 

"She is also hated, blamed for the slaughter of humans by guardian hand. It is one of the reasons we don't interact with mortals much. They use gods as scapegoats." Caelia says.


The beast suddenly disappears, reforming in front of Fenira and trying to slash her with it's claws.

 

“Humans are different. You gotta work with them, so they think they’re getting the better part of the deal. In fact, I have a human as a supercomputer assistant, and she’s turned into a sort of an intergalactic second Gaia.”
Pause.
“Of course, I keep the off switch handy, and if I press it, she dies.” She smirks.


She tries petrifying it entirely again, now nervous.

“You want that to be more on your hand than it already is?” She asks, confused.

 

"I'm not getting it off until I peel my hand off, anyways."
The giant pokes his sword under the flesh he was peeling earlier.

 

She sighs.
"Okay, then. On three?" She asks, drawing the arrow back.

 

The giant nods, readying to swing his hand in a horizontal arc on "three".

 

"They're difficult to work with." Caelia sighs.


Fenira manages to expose the eyes, but this seems to aid the beast, now trying to pin her down.
