Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Don't mention it."

"But.. how is Gram doing?"

 

The giant goes to the other corridor and starts making his way down it.

 

Idhaenna nods.
“My apologies, then.”
She turns to look out at the stars.
“Did I interrupt you?”


Fenira’s gaze literally cuts through its body, petrifying the beast near-instantly from the inside out.

 

"No, I was simply observing." Caelia says.


The beast falls still, petrified.

 

“He’s recovering.” Siln says, opening the box holding the pie. “He’ll make it, it’s just... a really painful sight to see.”

The fae and dryad follow you again, another group heading down the foggy corridor.

You find a bunch of bats sleeping in the next chamber, but no guards.

“My deepest apologies for disturbing you, then. I often forget that my schedule is not the only one that matters.” She sighs, feeling a bit guilty.


She leaves it, glancing nervously at her tracker.

 

"You did not disturb me." Caelia says.


It doesn't signal it's presence at all, hidden quite well on Fenira.

 

“You didn’t speak at first, I’ve found from mortals that it is usually a sign of me being unwelcome or the other party being busy. Again, my apologies if neither is the case.”


She sighs, slowly trudging closer to the capital, but stopping after just a few minutes.

 

"I gave a sign of notice to your presence. I'm sorry if it came off as rude." Caelia says.


Fenira sees a horse dash by in the distance, probably heading toward one of the other major cities.

 

“No, no, it’s on me for jumping to conclusions.” Idhaenna says, glancing at her wristband.
“Hmm... four hours left? I really should’ve picked a better time to come try and visit my counterparts...” She mumbles.
“Anyhow, how do you spend your days? It appears to be a stark contrast from me.”


She keeps her head down, hoping anyone other than a monster comes to confront her.

 

Is there another exit through this chamber?

 

Two; one straight ahead, one right next to the tunnel you entered through.

 

The giant tediously heads straight.

 

"Calmly monitoring the universe, occasionally occupying my time with sightseeing and music." Caelia says.


Nobody does, though she ends up accidentally petrifying a few bugs.

 

"Where is he now? Still with the other dragons?"

 

“Man, you’d hate my job.” Idhaenna laughs. “If there could be a version of me that’s the polar opposite of me, it’d apparently be you.”


She unpetrifies them as she decides to get moving again, something between bored and lonely.

“Yeah, still being treated.”

The fae goes off to the second exit, and you start to hear footsteps ahead as you proceed through a snaking tunnel.

 

The giant prepares for confrontation, lying in wait.

 

"And what would your job be?" Caelia asks.


Some of the lesser beasts seem to avoid Fenira, most likely out of survival instinct after witnessing her petrification abilities.

 

Idhaenna laughs, pulling up a holographic projection of her space station.
“I run an unparalleled research station and oversee the development of non-spacefaring races as they work their way towards the beauty of the stars. I believe technology and mortals are something gods can live hand-in-hand to better everyone. However, that belief seems to be immensey unpopular here.”


She makes the petrified beast crumble to dust to make a bigger statement.

The footsteps are still moving away.

 

The giant mimics the pace of the footsteps as he heads forth.

 

He finds another room, and a pair of guards talking.
“There’s one trailing me.”
“I know. How many?”
“Only hear one.”
“Get the others, choke ‘em out.”
“Right.”
Both leave through different tunnels.
