Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Eve leads Gaia out of the vault, Shadow Stephanie waiting outside. Shadow Stephanie begins sealing the vault as Eve leads Gaia to the elevator.

The dials in the elevator appear to change automatically and instantaneously. Eve and Gaia are teleported to just outside what looks like a huge greenhouse, plantlife flourishing within. Forest guardians appear to be rather common, though that doesn't appear to stop other guardians and Shadows entering to observe the area. Some forest guardians appear to meditate on large flowers, the flowers themselves closing in on them.

 

Gaia seems to relax a bit, entering silently and looking at any smaller flowers.

 

There are flowers of many different shapes and colours scattered about the grass. A butterfly lands on one Gaia is looking at, showing it's wings briefly before flying away to another. A guardian with turquoise hair waves their hand over a patch of flowers, droplets of water falling onto them like rain from their palm. A few forest guardians smile at Gaia as they pass, the area calming.

 

Despite being weakened, Gaia still radiates a strong aura of life energy, noticably stronger than several guardians combined.

She nods at the guardians, a slightly pained and confused look in her eye.

 

One of the forest guardians takes notice.

"Are you feeling alright, ma'am?" The forest guardian asks, concerned.

 

Gaia hesitates.
“Can I answer that off to the side?” She asks, a bit nervous.

 

"Oh, uhm." The forest guardian says, glancing around before raising their hands upward. Bushes and small trees erupt around the pair, closing them off.

 

Gaia sighs.
“I assume you’re familiar with Xlentia and aware there’s another reality?”

 

"Yes, the Shadow King has been frequenting it." The forest guardian says, nodding.

 

“I am that reality’s Gaia, and I was brought here to recover from the brink of death. I only regained consciousness minutes ago.”

 

"Oh, do...do you need help? We can heal you if you need." The forest guardian says, surprised. They seem to be more concerned about Gaia's health rather than the fact she's Gaia.

 

"I will, I will."

He licks his fingers.
"You know, the taste of berries is quite fitting to our forest live."

 

“I’m working on getting in touch with your Gaia, but any bit of help would be greatly appreciated... I just can’t repay you in any way.”

“They’re sort of like nature’s dessert. Except the poison ones, those just suck.”

 

"You don't need to repay us, there is no need." The forest guardian says happily, the bushes and trees sinking into the ground around them.

 

Gaia nods, appreciative but still uneasy.

 

The forest guardian walks over to one of the large flowers, signalling for Gaia to sit on it.

 

Gaia sits on it, her staff coiling around her arm in response.

 

"Just try to relax, clear your mind." The forest guardian says with a smile.

 

"Yeah, duh. Ofcourse being poisoned sucks."

 

"I'm testing something."

"Ask him if he knows a guy named Aspen."
