Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“I know no better healer than the high goddess of life, though I appreciate the offer.”

“Yeah.”

“Find something?”

“Really good. Have you ever had berries dipped in chocolate? It tastes like that, but soft.”

 

"May I have a taste or do you want to keep it to yourself?"

 

“Checking in now...”

“Yeah. Have you?”

 

"Well, I've been attempting to access our Gaia's realm. Perhaps she could help you if you came with me?" Eve asks.

 

Gaia hesitates before nodding.
“I can’t think of very many safer places, if I really have as big a target on my back as Atavul made it seem.”

He nods.

“Some unarmed freak came running down at me. I’m holding him, seeing if a few thorns will get me anything.”

She moves the cake closer to your face.
“Don’t forget the frosting on your nose.” She laughs.

 

“Hey, what’s your name?”

“Can you ask him a question for me?”

 

"I'll be sure to notify you once I gain access." Eve says.

Eve turns around, another person entering the vault. It appears to be Shadow Stephanie, a crystalline flower in her hands.

"What are you guys doing in the vault?" Shadow Stephanie asks, looking confused.

 

"How am I supposed to eat this? Just use a fingertip?"

 

"Aspen, why?"

"Make it quick, if he keeps screaming I'm putting an arrow through him."

"Break off a piece, or just bite into it I guess." She shrugs.

"Apparently I was brought here for protection while I recovered?" Gaia says, albeit unsure as she glances at Eve for confirmation.

 

"I'll just break off a piece. Don't want to gross you out."

He breaks of a piece and takes a bite.

 

The chocolate cake is extremely soft, and it tastes like a less flavorful version of your cookie. Once the frosting reaches your tongue, it tastes like berries, but the chocolate taste is stronger than the berry.

 

Shadow Stephanie looks to Eve too.

"She was. After an attack by another of her gods on her palace, I was sent to recover her in a crystal form. Aj and Artemis were injured following the events. They're injured now, but for different reasons." Eve explains.

"Alright...well don't take anything." Shadow Stephanie says, putting her crystalline flower in a pile.

 

“Am I really held in that low regard here?” She asks, mildly offended.

 

"You're in our fault. Nobody but Aj, Eve and I are supposed to access it because it's where we store all our extremely valuable and extremely dangerous things." Shadow Stephanie says.

"I will make certain she doesn't take anything, Stephanie. I doubt she would from what I can tell." Eve chimes in.

"Alright." Shadow Stephanie says, sighing.

 

“At that, I would like to go somewhere more... lively, if you will.” She says, looking at her mostly-disintegrated wings.

 

"We have a garden specifically for forest guardians in the palace. I'm sure you'd fit in there." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

Gaia nods, turning to Eve.
“Might you be able to guide me there? Flight isn’t an option for me, else I’d head there myself.”

 

"Certainly, Miss Gaia." Eve says, offering a hand.

Shadow Stephanie leaves the vault, muttering to herself about work.

 

"The chocolate is the strongest flavor of the two. It's soft, but now my fingers are getting sticky. It tastes good, but I prefer my cookie."

 

Gaia takes it, though her grip is extremely weak.
