Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“Not if you don’t want to. Mostly it’s people complaining.”

Kiin looks for Artemis, ice melting once Tulia gets back on land.

 

Artemis is nowhere to be seen, none of the forest guardians looking remotely like her.

 

"I have my own business. Taking care of the pack, doing contracts, relaxing, and those kind of things."

 

Kiin sighs, placing down a frosty rune and teleporting back to her room in Aquira’s palace.

“That’s fine. Just don’t forget to do things for yourself.”

 

The underwater palace is empty, and surprisingly cold for the season. However, there's evidence someone's been in the palace recently.

 

"Don't worry, I have plenty of free time inbetween those activities."

 

She continues in, a bit nervous.
“Hello? Sis?” She calls, putting up an icy barrier around her.

“Good. Nothing worse than overdoing it.”

 

Kiin can hear noises above her, almost like footsteps.

 

The giant mimics his silence, observing the walls.

 

"Oh yeah. Definitely."

"So, which way to Siln? Just up the mountains I'm assuming?"

 

She readies an ice spike in her free hand, trying to sweep the palace for souls.

They’re... bland. Natural looking, and spectacular if it weren’t manipulated.

“Yeah, then he’s in one of the earlier valleys. Worst case scenario, everyone knows everyone over there and we just ask.”

 

Kiin can sense a soul above her, though it quickly moves to below her.

 

“Show yourself. Last warning.” Kiin says, eyes emanating darkness as she gains vision of the soectral plane and looks for the being.

 

The soul seems to be in Katie's room, nearby. It doesn't respond.

 

Kiin blinks into the room, ice spike ready, along with some shadowy extension of her body coming partway out of her wings.

 

Abigail sits in front Katie's computer, a plate with a hot pie on it next to her which she seems to have begun eating. She appears to be watching someone else play a game and doesn't notice Kiin.

 

She calms down, the ice spike melting but the shadowy extension remaining.

After a minute, Kiin joins her in watching, uncaring if Abigail noticed her or not.

 

Abigail slowly eats the pie, gravy and chunks of meat spilling onto her plate as she does so. The person seems to be playing a game featuring a mascot-like character progressing through a series of challenging platforming levels. They appear to get angrier and angrier the more times they die, which amuses Abigail.

 

"Let's just go to the mountains first. Maybe we'll walk into Gram on the way."

 

Kiin pokes Abigail, shield between them.

“I think it’ll take him more than a couple hours to recover. It’s still sunset.”
