Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"We don't have time to torture everyone we come across." She snaps.

She nods, smiling.

The clerk comes out with a large box.
"Alright, pie's ready. Did you want anything else?"
"Yes, a double chocolate cookie and a slice of cake... surprise me on the cake." Anne says.
"Sure." They say, bending down and taking a cookie and a square of pink cake from the display case.

 

"That wasn't the point, it's either keep one of my hands useless or take like, twenty seconds to just let me possess someone."

 

"Never possess anyone here. That's a one way trip into their system."

 

"Fucking 'ell."
The giant looks at his messes up palm and shakes his head lightly.
"...Deal with it later, I guess."

 

"Thank you."
He grabs the cookie and pass for it.

 

The person glares at Alice, before moving around her.

"If she moves, shoot them." The person says to the two other humans in the room, before shutting Alice in.

 

Alice blinks.
“Could I sit down, please?”

Anne paws your hand, putting a bag of coins on the counter.
“I got it.”

“If we get past the reset, you’ll be able to shift while they reestablish the nullmagic.”

 

"No." One of the animal-masked humans says.

 

"Right."
The giant tries to stand up straight.
"Let's move."

 

Alice nods.
“How much do funerals cost? If I’m dead, my money may as well go for something. Figure their families’d hate to take the burdens of the bill.”

The dryad nods, glancing down the side tunnels.
“I’ll go left, you go straight?”

 

The humans say nothing.

 

Alice sighs, waiting for the other man to return.

 

"Sure. Yell if we get attacked or just deal with it?"

 

It takes a while, but he returns eventually.

As the person re-enters, he keeps his guns pointed at Alice.

"Alright, what else have you been doing?" The person asks.

 

“In what sense?” She asks, confused.

“Don’t yell, just fall back to this intersection.”

 

"You knew about the capital being destroyed. What else?" The person asks, impatient.

 

"Will do."
He starts trudging down the straight tunnel.

 

“Oh, I was supposed to find these two guardians. Their kid came crying on my porch, and next thing you know my day goes from a relaxing cup of tea to this mess.” She shrugs.

She ducks off to the side.

The tunnel is pretty clear, an upwards spiral branching off on one side of the cave.

 

"They have a child? Where are they?" The person asks.

 

He looks at the spiral a bit before slowly continuing on.
