Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

He does so, silent.

 

“Mind letting me have a few last words, then?” Alice asks, slowly sitting down.

Another man in obsidian armor crawls along the ceiling, throwing knives held between his fingers.

 

"Your magic words won't work here. We have this place completely devoid of magic." The person says, smirking.

 

“No, I already figured that much out. I was going to say that a robotic bee sort of levelled the capital and killed maybe every citizen nearby. I kinda wound up here fleeing.”

 

The giant looks towards the woman, waiting for a signal.

 

She gestures to him, then points behind the man.

“I’m going to make him turn around. That’ll be your opening.” She says telepathically, nocking an arrow.

 

"That's quite possibly the least believable story I've ever heard." The person says, guns still pointed at Alice.

 

“I mean, I’m the only one that snuck in here, so you’re free to drag me around and check. If you think I’m lying that much, you would’ve shot me by now.”

 

The giant nods, readying his non-gooped hand.

 

She pulls back and fires, knocking the tip off a stalagmite as the man leaps down and looks at the arrow before heading down the opposite path where it looks like the arrow came from.

 

As quickly as possible, the giant darts for the man, grasps his midsection, turns quickly, and slams him into the ground.

 

He's caught off guard, though in grabbing his midsection you wind up stabbing yourself with caltrops attached to their armor.

 

The giant endures the pain, keeping his hand deep in the caltrops as he pins the man to the ground.

 

He struggles, but doesn't have a visor - something that makes the dryad's job easy.
"Okay, we're still on an unknown clock and nobody's found a way up yet. Regret signing up yet?"

 

The giant doesn’t answer, as a bolt of dark purple streaks from the giant’s head to the man’s.
As it does, the giant’s eyes go blank, and the man feels a wave of psychic pain, like someone’s metaphysically squishing his head together.

 

"Tell me what's actually happening." The person says.

 

"Don't say that. Who knows what can happen."

 

“Look, how about this; cuff me up and go check with anyone with a comm device that can talk to the front lines or in the capital. Then, you can see if I’m telling the truth or not.”

“Fair enough... I feel like the world just gets angry sometimes.”

The man already has an arrow through his skull, some neurotoxin of sorts dripping with the blood.

 

"It does. Bad things are bound to happen sooner or later, but I rather cherish the moment for now."

 

The purple streak snaps back to the giant, color returning to its eyes.
“Mother f- I shoulda clarified, still and alive.”
The giant lets go of the body.
