Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Alice finds a few other pieces of rebar at seemingly random locations, though when marked, they seem to be encircling something.


There appears to be hundreds of guardians riding inside the tsunami, all of them water guardians. Behind them are thousands more.

 

She sends a single clone towards the center of the circle.


EBB stops scoping in and turns to you.
“Would the lifeforms within and behind the wave be said guardians, or the targets?” It asks, all six arms now ready on triggers.

 

The center appears to be fairly normal, except...the ground feels a little harder.


"Guardians." I say, squinting at the tsunami.

 

"So where do you want to go, Anne?"

 

She lets her clone melt into the ground, probing underground.


EBB scans their souls, looking for a pattern in the scans that might make identification easier.

“How about we go visit Siln?”

 

Alice finds an elevator shaft leading deep underground, miles even.


Each soul seems to have a tie to a particular element, either water, fire, earth or air. Some souls seem to contain stronger life force, while others seem to have more potency.

 

Alice makes sure she has it marked properly on both maps before trying to get her clone inside via a vent of some sort or any crack in the structure.

“So, extract data from anything non-elemental?” EBB asks, turning to scope in towards the mainland.

 

There seems to be some electronics buried beneath the ground, just above the elevator shaft. It may be a way of accessing the base.


"If 'extract data' means 'kill', go crazy." I say.

 

She sends the clone towards the electronics, testing if it is indeed a way in.


EBB switches to spectral view, flies ahead of you a bit, then proceeds to insert rails into every nonelemental soul signature in the direction the tsunami is heading.

 

"That's a good idea, yes. I -uh.. I hope he's doing alright after what happened."

"Maybe we could buy something nice for him?"

 

It seems to be a highly complex panel to gain access. Without knowing the code, Alice might set off an alarm.


EBB finds quite a few heading towards the tsunami, managing to cause explosions as they're hit.

 

Do the voices come from forwards or backwards?

 

From ahead.

Alice opts to wait for someone to come or go, regardless of how long it may take.


By the time the tsunami reaches EBB, it flies up above the wave while swapping out some of its armaments for... less precision, more destruction.

"Well, if we do, it wouldn't be here... and I don't know what he even likes, anyways."

 

"Maybe something to eat or something. Maybe he likes that?"

 

The giant creeps on forwards, looking out for what's ahead.

 

Nobody comes or leaves. It seems waiting around will yield no results.


I dive into the tsunami, currents throwing me about before I manage to get thrown out into the advancing armies, looking around for Artemis.

 

She once again tries sweeping for sensors or nullmagic fields, albeit lower in the ground this time.


EBB continues filling anything that isn't a guardian with rails, staying constantly over the front line.

After a few steps, he feels the floor crack beneath one of his feet.

"He's a dragon, though. I don't know how we'd carry enough food and have him not just be able to finish it in one bite."

 

There's incredibly strong nullmagic about halfway down the elevator shaft, negating all but the tiniest acts of magic.


Soon there aren't many non-guardians left, the rest retreating.

 

He quickly steps far back, looking at the ground beneath him.

 

"That's fair. But it's the thought that counts."
