Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Rose finds a larger amount of bugs in this direction, and nests appear to be more common amongst the muddy ground.

 

"Well, if you're willing to go knee deep into the actual front lines, I'll let Emerald know."

She hops on the table and sits opposite from you, seeming happy.

She uses the cold as a deterrent, continuing on as she looks for the other edge of the island.

 

“Hell yeah. Actual thing’s better anyways.”

 

"Okay. What do we got."

He looks through the stuff.

 

Most bugs avoid Rose and the cold.

After a long and hard walk through muddy ground and thick undergrowth, Rose eventually makes it to the edge of the island.

 

"You... do realize we're not in a good position to pull you out if things go south, right?"

She looks over the edge, spreading her wings.

There's an eight-by-eight board with alternating red and black squares, then 12 red patches and 12 black patches.

 

It seems to be a drop into a void, though she can see a bridge a bit of a distance away.

 

She heads towards the bridge, checking where it leads.

 

The bridge leads to another field, this one dotted with berry bushes and fruit trees. There also appears to be a few vegetables poking out of the ground.

 

She strolls over, the cold aura gone as she walks by (trying to avoid stepping on any plants).

 

"Is it by any chance the same as chess, Arga? Cause I know chess."

 

"No, it's easier. I have a chess set if you want me to get it out."

 

"I sure am."

 

"Sure."
He smiles.

 

The grass is soft with a mossy undertone. A few of the robotic golems wander around, chiming. Occasionally one stops to pick a fruit or vegetable, before continuing on.

 

“Are you bringing someone else with you?”

She eventually stops, watching the golems work.

After another minute, she comes out with a chess board and well-carved (or simply petrified) pieces.

 

"...Naw."

 

"Now I know how to play this."

He takes the white pieces and places them all in the correct order.

 

Anne seems confused, copying what you did with the black pieces.
Her king and queen are backwards, though.

"Do I need to ask why you seem to be trying to obscure something?"

 

"Sure, go ahead."
