Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"The little ones are moving around a lot. Can't count them well. I think I see.. 6 in total?"

 

I go out of the mines and snoop around the area, looking for shops.

 

She watches them for a bit, trying to identify their target.

“I counted 7, but one sort of looked the same, so yeah. I’ll go with 6.”

“Okay, board’s ready.” Arga calls. “The pieces should be another minute.”

You see a general store a ten minute walk away.

 

"You could have scored a point if you said you saw 7, you know."

 

“Wait, we’re keeping score?”

 

It seems to be some kind of flying robot, though it's hard to watch them as they run away.

 

"It's a game we're playing, right?"

 

I head there, taking the walk.

 

"Not all games have score, though."

The doors are wide open, though it's no bigger than a house.
"Hello, not often someone bothers walking over. Can I help you?" The clerk asks, stocking a shelf.

Rose tries to check if the robot has a soul - specifically wondering if it's Eve.

 

"Yeah."
I say, looking the shelves over.
"I was wondering what you've got in store."

 

"If you don't want a score system, we can do that. I'll just keep track in my mind then."

 

It doesn't have a soul, nor is it anythink like Eve. The robot is destroyed by Stephanie shortly after Rose checks. Shadow Stephanie skids to a halt as Stephanie takes out a colourful crystal from it's remains.

 

"...Isn't that still keeping score?"

Rose opts to explore elsewhere.

Bread, flour, milk, eggs, candies... standard grocery.
"Nothing special. I don't think any shop nearby has anything special, really. Most people just work to learn how to make their own everything around here."

 

Rose eventually comes across an island filled with sand. The sun feels more intense, and cacti are present; dotted over it randomly.

 

She checks for other island biomes, interest now piqued.

 

Rose soon comes across a large ocean island, a separate forest with more rainforest-like foliage, an island covered in snow and an island which seems to be mostly a mountain.

 

Rose heads to the snow-covered island, glancing at the ocean island on her way.

 

Rose can see a few fish swimming about near the surface, as well as coral. The ocean seems to go quite deep, however.

A few wolves can be seen roaming around in the distance on the snow island. Robotic golems appear to be absent, and the sun doesn't feel as warm as it used to. A few snowmen can be seen around the place, sticks jammed into their sides to resemble arms.

 

The snow consolidates into hard ice beneath Rose’s feet as she walks, sapping heat to make her surroundings even colder.
She watches the wolves from afar, silent.

 

The wolves stick closely together in a pack, sniffing the ground and air as they move. Suddenly, they all begin running in a direction, seemingly chasing something.
