"You'll still remember things, such as the lessons happening. You just won't remember specifics." Praecantatia says, taking the contract.

Praecantatia slides five more pieces of paper toward Rose, each with areas to sign at the bottom.

"You'll need to sign at least one of these, but you can sign them all if you wish." Praecantatia says.

 

"I count about 5 to 7. How many did you count?"

 

“Hi.”
I wave back, but continue to stroll.

Not entirely sure what else to do, he checks her forehead for a temperature.

 

Rose reads through them for notable details, fine print, etc.

The path is rough but well-kept, though not even a weed grows where people tread.

It's chilled, but he doesn't know what normal is.

"Are you counting things that are only part cats?"

 

They appear to be details of subjects Rose can take.

The first two subjects appear to specialise in Fire and Life magic, while the third and fourth are about golemancy and magitech. The fifth subject seems to be understanding magic power as a whole, with an additional subject of mage crystal creation and understanding.

 

She signs on all but the golemancy course.

 

"I see lions and cheetahs. And some have some cat features."

 

"I see a little cat too, on someone's shoulder."

 

"Where?"
He looks around for this cat Anne mentioned.

 

Praecantatia takes the papers back.

"Your lessons will begin this coming monday, I'll sort out a place for you to stay in the meantime. Feel free to explore the islands before your lessons begin, it would be wise to situate yourself with the areas you'll be working in." Praecantatia says.

 

Rose nods.
"Any security systems I need to be aware of?"

After another minute of looking, you can see a kitten on a human's shoulder.

 

"None that should trouble you." Praecantatia says.

 

"Ah, found it. So how many did you count?"

 

She nods.
"Thanks, Lady Praecantatia."

"Eight, including the hybrids."

 

"Then I think we're even. If we count the cat on the shoulder, that would put me at 8."

 

The candles are all snuffed out, and the door opens onto one of the islands.

 

"Alright... how about you pick the next animal?"

Rose heads out, taking in the sights.

 

Rose seems to be in a flower field, various types of flowers both common and rare visible. Some flowers seem to only be able to bloom in shade, while others need sunlight. Various golems wander around, some stopping to pick a flower.

 

"I was thinking of scaled animals. Like; lizards, reptiles and maybe some dragons even."

 

"Alright. Go." Anne says, intently looking out the window.

Rose uses a tiny flame to test how the flowers in the shade react to light.
