Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Seems to just be a morning rush; the crowds die down after a few minutes.

 

"Yeah, that works too. Don't want it get drenched or full or stains and such."

 

"I'll... keep it in a back closet, then. No shortage of people here wondering who you are."

 

I soar off towards the inland, checking if there's any other cities or settlements.

 

There’s a larger castle, plus smaller towns scattered around it.

 

I head towards the castle, deciding to check it out.

 

"I might have already told some people that the clothes were for us. Just a handful maybe."

 

"That's basically what they tried to do." I say.


The room is already quite dark, and the fireplace stops emitting light. The curtains could probably be closed to make the room completely black.

 

"That... might not have been the best idea. Word spreads like wildfire here."

"And how does that justify you doing it?"


Miorah opts to close the curtains.

A few airships slowly move to form a blockade. You can easily outmaneuver them, but it seems they don't want you flying over the castle.

 

I land at an apparent entrance.

 

"Oh well.. can't do much about it now, can we?"

 

Two guards eye you down before glancing at each other.
“You mind leaving that hammer at the gate?”

“Stay in here and not go outside to deal with the crowd that’s gathering?” Arga says, taking notes on something off to the side.

 

"As long as I get it back."
I take out the hammer.

 

He looks out the window.
"What do you mean?"

 

"I don't know. Balancing it out?" I say, sounding a little annoyed.


The room goes completely black, Miorah unable to see anything with naked eyes.

 

"It's already unbalanced and you know that."


Miorah carves a note into a summoned piece of lumber before drifting off again;
"Vebrin in top dresser drawer, do not by any means expose them to any amount of light"

 

I just sigh.


Nobody disturbs Miorah.

 

There's a whole crowd of people pointing at you.
"Them."

"You can pick the storeroom it's kept in, if you want that degree of security." They shrug.

"Come on, you've gotten away with crazier stuff before. The only difference is the number of friends we have... and that shadows have burned some bridges, but I still think you can make up for anything people think you did wrong."

 

I don't respond, just sighing again.

 

“Oh, come on. Moping’s not going to solve anything. I’m pretty sure I could make the Hive Master surrender if it did...”
