Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

He chuckles a bit.
“Naw, I’m not upset about it. It’s reasonable...”

 

(Are we back in the village yet?)

"Do you know how long we walked?"

 

“Well, it was nice talking with you. I think I’d better keep away from any duels in the arena, though.”


Emerald’s absent.


“Lady Gaia is sealed in the vault, and I am her advisor. Tenebrae sent me this way in order to help find new shelter for the surviving vebrin.”

“...but?”

Yes.

“Fifteen minutes, ish.”

 

"But I'm thinking. 'Bout stuff."

 

"We don't use it very often, so you're not missing out on much." The fire guardian shrugs.


Artemis looks for anyone else working at the library.


"Oh, then I'm sure we can find somewhere for them to live," The royal Shadow says happily, "How many are there?"

 

"Fair enough."


There doesn't seem to be anyone else.


"Thirty, including one that Artemis seems particularly fond of."

"Oh. Thought you cut the sentence short, my bad."

 

“No, just thinking.”
Voidfiller sighs.

 

Mel leads him to a staircase.
"Okay, try not to wake everyone. Some people're just here for a bed."

 

“I won’t. I’ll be in, then right out.”
He starts down the staircase.

 

"I could walk around a bit more. Still have about 10 minutes left. But.. maybe I should just return to Arga's and see if Anne has arrived yet."

 

Artemis decides to scan the bookshelves she can read, looking for books on gods.


"Hm...alright. I'll have some housing arrangements sorted for them." The royal Shadow says.

 

“Keep heading down the hall until you can see out the window cells, he’s the only one there and his candle’s lit.”

Ihra seems to be paging through them, having a massive pile next to her at a table.


“Keep in mind they have three requirements... one, no light exposure at all. Two, they need soil rich in nutrients because they can’t talk. Three, you could sit all thirty on one piece of paper.”

“Better safe than sorry, if you ask me.”

 

"Guess I'll get going then. Thank you for showing me the bluff."

He waves goodbye and heads to Arga's place.

 

Artemis walks over to Ihra.

"Hello, Ihra." Artemis says with a smile.


"Oh...I suppose I could set an area up for them in the garden then?" The royal Shadow says.

 

"A'ight."
He does exactly that.

 

Ihra shoots up and hugs Artemis.
"I'm so sorry I wasn't there." She says, worried.


"They'll need a fairly large amount of nutrients, I fear they'd suck the gardens dry.

He can see Thirteen's cell, and the only other person in a cell nearby is a guard who apparently wasn't cut out for night shift.

The hawk nods before flying off.

Anne's sitting next to the door.
"Do a little sightseeing?"

 

Artemis seems a little surprised, but hugs Ihra back.

"It's fine, we survived." Artemis says positively.


"I'll look into nutrient-rich areas then, perhaps I could find some Earth guardians willing to take them in." The royal Shadow says.

 

An eye only held up by a tendril drifts over to the guard to examine him as Voidfiller continues towards Thirteen’s cell.

 

He has no keys, no armor, no weapon. He doesn't even appear to have chosen the position he's laying in, sort of just flung on the bed.

Nobody else is nearby, though the ground's a bit rough.

"I was off with Idhaenna, seeing if we could figure out how to free the water god. Emerald didn't respond to telepathy, so I came back to see you in stasis..." She sighs, still worried.


"I appreciate it. As far as I'm aware, they're the last of their kin." Miorah says, bowing.

 

"We actually came here for that same purpose. We thought it might be best to know our enemy." Artemis says.


"That's troubling to hear. I'll put them at a high priority then." The royal Shadow says, summoning a clipboard with a lot of papers on.
