"Armies protect the weak."

 

“I am a pyromancer with a focus on healing applications along with most things that come with being a succubus. I’ve tweaked them a bit, seeing as I’d like to remain a virgin. Love fascinates me, and I aspire to become an officient on Earth. However... I have lifetimes of training to kill. I was the empress of hell, before I stepped down and passed the throne to my sister.”

“If only that was all they did...”
Pause.
“Alright, we’re pretty much here.”

The ground ahead drops off into the ocean, a small plateau you stand on jutting out over the water.

 

"If you'd like, you can work here with me. A mix of a pyromancer and a healer is extremely useful and I'm sure you'd find many couples here." Gaia offers, smiling.

 

"That's.. a long way down."

 

Rose seems surprised.
“I... appreciate the offer, I really do, but I don’t know if I can bear to sit back here while my former advisee rends apart the home I once knew.”

“Well, you’re on the bluff now. You’re not supposed to jump off the cliff.”

 

"Would you like to train to fight then? I know some of the other gods have training programs in combat with their element." Gaia inquires.

 

He looks around.
Checking the surrounding area, looking at the grass, looking at the view.

 

“A refresher might not be bad... but I only fear what I will owe you for your kindness. I’ve never been this indebted before.”

The grass is fairly short and the ground is rough, but the view of the ocean is beautiful along with the volcano and mainland visible in the background.

 

"Consider it a gift. Is there any particular god you want to train under? I know quite a bit about fire magic if you'd like some help." Gaia asks.

 

“What gods are there here, and what do they offer?” She asks, seeming relieved but still a bit uneasy.

 

"Temporus, the God of Time could teach you about fighting by altering time; Praecantatia, the Goddess of Magic could teach you about using magic to your advantage, as well as when not to use it; Mortius, the God of Death could teach you about quickly downing an opponent with physical attacks and you'd be able to train in hell; Lux, or rather his representative royalty could teach you about fighting with technology." Gaia explains. Little wooden figurines grow from the table as Gaia speaks the god's names, representing each god.

 

Rose seems struck with fear.
“I, uh... would ask for Praecantatia, but... I don’t know if she’d kill me.”

 

"Why would she kill you? I'm fairly certain the most she'd do is prevent you from interacting with her realm should you be destructive or try to bring harm to her daughter." Gaia asks, confused.

 

"You see, a while ago, her daughter attempted to reach out to Atavul in hopes to have him resist his mind control. What actually happened was she fed him even more power and was going to be desecrated if she held her link much longer... so I put her in a feedback loop so she'd be knocked out instead of killed. She apparently still hasn't recovered." Rose admits, looking guilty.

 

Gaia takes a while to think.

"I'm sure if you're honest, Praecantatia will see your good intentions. I highly doubt she'll kill you over that. If she tries to, contact me." Gaia says, growing a green tulip on the ground beside her and picking it, offering it to Rose.

 

Rose takes a deep breath and accepts the tulip.
"Lady Gaia, I think I'd like to study under Praecantatia temporarily, if possible. Though, if you don't mind another question, why are there no elemental tutors?"

 

"This seems like a good spot."
He turns to the guide.

"Don't you think?"

 

Gaia quickly changes through her guardian forms, hair and eyes most visibly changing colour.

"I am the goddess of life, and the elements." Gaia says.

 

"If you don't mind, I would like to study under you as well after Praecantatia."

"For a wedding? Nobody's ever had one here, but I like it."

 

"You may, though Praecantatia's training will be far from short. If you would like, you can relax here for a while before my training." Gaia offers.
