Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I chuckle softly.
“Where do I put him?”
I ask, lightness in my voice.

 

"What, are there mute gods here?" Xlentia asks.


"Such a shame that fire is often painted as a raging inferno leaving nothing but ash in its wake. I miss the days where fire also meant life." Rose sighs, turning and walking off towards the portal to the Void Palace.

"Lay 'em down, I'll have the next patrol take them back in."

 

"We didn't expect something like you to be civilised." The first demon says.

"Well, you can hardly call her civilised. She's been rolling around like a dog over those fire guardians." The second demon says.

"Well, we didn't expect you to have social knowledge." The first demon says, correcting themselves.


"You may want to speak to Gaia about that. She shares the same views. Everything is good in balance." Tenebrae says, following.

 

I carefully lean Mitch up against the nearest wall, putting him down.

 

"Well, pardon me for taking Mortius' offer to cool off after fighting something that sent him back into the grave." Xlentia grumbles. "Besides, if this is hell and they're being tortured, what difference does my presence make?"
Pause.
"Wait, I should just wipe your memories and we could start from the beginning. Or wipe you from every timeline ever..." She says, eyes going from purple to voids.

Al does the same with Owen and Percy before slumping against the wall as well.

 

"Something sent Mortius back to the grave? Pinch me darling I must be dreaming." The first demon says, laughing.

"Mortius can't die. He is death. Death itself cannot die, it already has." The second demon says.

 

"Well, he was defeated, his scythe is bent up and Tenebrae is walking home with severe burns." Xlentia says, stepping with two claws placed around them. "Any other words of wisdom you'd like to spare me?"

 

“Well, I should get going.”
I say to Al.

 

"If Mortius was defeated, we'd be one of the first to know." The first demon says.

"I don't like her tone, sister." The second demon says.

"Niether do I, sister. Though her intellect seems to evade her." The first demon replies.

 

Xlentia rolls her eyes.
"Look, you might be having fun torturing people here, but my reality's Gaia is nearly dead."

Xlentia tries linking with Mortius.
"I'm already irritated with these demons, do you mind if I get a portal out?"

 

"I can understand why." The first demon says with a smug expression.

A portal appears to the void palace in front of Xlentia.

 

Xlentia sighs.
"This is why your gods never interact with mortals, isn't it?" She says, leaving.

 

The demons seem annoyed, though the portal closes them off.

 

“I appreciate it, Mortius... but I still find it hard to believe you’re hardly shaken after that blow.” Xlentia says, returning to her chambers.

"Don't become scrap." He nods, yawning.

 

I smile and nod, then start looking upwards.

 

You can see the sibling planet and moon stand out in the star-sprinkled sky.

 

Making sure I'm not next to any plants, I jet up and out of the courtyard to take a look around.

 

This startles the guard, but you get high enough that you can see that the castle (and a few towns) are built on a sizable island, maybe multiple by the looks of the farmland.
