Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Artemis reaches over Sgavrinn to tend to her flowers again, Onyx able to stay on her shoulder.

I approach Artemis, Sgavrinn and Onyx after a short while.

"Hey, Artemis," I say, "I was wondering if you wanted to go see the other reality's Gaia with me. I spoke to Emerald and apparently she's not feeling great after losing so many of her children."

Artemis turns around to face me.

"Sure, I'm not too busy right now." Artemis says happily, getting up and smiling at me. Onyx jumps off of Artemis' shoulder, walking over to me.

"Does Sgavrinn want to come too?" I ask.

Artemis glances down at Sgavrinn, as if posing the question.


It's hard to trace and in the end Sivius just finds another block, this one impossible to trace.

 

He nods, sniffing at and then nuzzling you.


He doesn’t try and pursue it further.

 

I offer a hand for Artemis to take, and she takes it. Artemis and I head back around to the front of the palace, Onyx following. Artemis occasionally glances back to make sure Sgavrinn is alright.

 

"Do you think you can take me there?"

 

I turn over three for the middle.

 

Both black queens and seven of spades.

"Sure. Do you have a specific time you need to be back here?"

He keeps up, keeping some distance from Onyx despite sniffing at her every few steps.

 

I wait a bit again, then turn over the fourth and fifth.

 

"Little less then an hour."

 

Onyx sticks close to me, nervous.


Artemis and I step through a portal outside the void palace library, Onyx leaping through too as Artemis looks back at Sgavrinn to make sure he gets through.

 

They wind up being the two red queens.
"Who... shuffled?" Mitch mutters.

He gets through, sticking closer to Artemis.

"Alright, yeah, I'll take you. You okay with walking, or do you need a ride?" The hawk asks.

 

"Not sure."
I lie convincingly, glancing at my cards.

 

"I'm okay with walking."

 

Artemis and I head toward the portal room, Onyx staying close and looking around.

 

“In that case, I'll have her relay you to me at the gates." The hawk says, flying off.
The lioness sighs.
"Well... if you'd come this way?" She says, walking down a slightly crowded path.

There's a seven-emblem dial, currently set to a swirling vortex glowing with voidlight. The other glowing emblems are a green heart made of leaves and a ghost fading into wind lines. The unlit emblems include a pitchfork surrounded by demon horns and a barbed tail, a fiery sword cutting through an egg, a gavel, and a book with a wave on the cover.

Ace and five of clubs.

 

I turn the dial to the green heart made of leaves.

 

The portal room is replaced with a single green portal that exudes a strong floral scent. Fae can be seen busily working with the vines along Gaia's palace walls.

 

Artemis and I step through, Onyx staying close.

 

Miorah rushes over to you once you enter.
"Please tell me you're here for something other than killing me off at the source. And you, wear this. You reek of death." She says, handing you a flower wristband.

 

I take the flower wristband and go to put it on, before hesitating. I offer Artemis the wristband, and she puts it on to see if anything happens.

Onyx shies away behind me.

 

Nothing happens, hold a pleasant aroma exuding from her.

"Okay, understandable, but I still have forty thousand funerals to hold today. I'm not adding anyone else to the list. Now, if you wouldn't mind getting to your point, I need to get to the sixty-three-thousand-eight-hundred-and-forty-second." She says, slowly growing irritated.
