Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“I will admit it’s miserable out of context. Anyhow... you going home, or do you want to see your group’s rooms?”

 

"Praecantatia actually asked why we were still here, so I should probably take Stephanie back." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

“You’ve had more than them.”
I comment.

 

“We’re two.” The hawk replies.
“I’ll get him. Keep an eye out here, will you?” The lion asks.
“Of course.” They nod, perching on the billboard.

“You need a portal back or you got it?” Lenka asks, offering cores to Stephanie and Shadow Stephanie. “Also, those are comms in case you come back to the stars.”

“Correct. Your point?”

 

Shadow Stephanie still seems to be possessing Stephanie, so offering multiple cores seems moot. However, Shadow Stephanie still takes one.

"I think Stephanie has a ring or something that does it." Shadow Stephanie says, toying with Stephanie's fingers before vanishing in a blast of light.

 

“I thought you couldn’t keep track.”

 

Lenka just continues on with his day.


Sgavrinn approaches the gates of the shadow palace, looking like he’s overslept.

“I’m drunk, okay?”

 

“Alright.”
I check the cards I gave myself.

 

"So. You two are guides then?"

 

The guards mutter to each other for a moment, before opening the gates for Sgavrinn.

 

"Yep, but one guide per group or person."

He sniffs around a bit before heading towards the garden.

Ace and five of clubs.

 

Forest guardians tend to the garden's plants as faeries fly about. A black cat watches Sgavrinn as he picks up the scent of a familiar forest guardian.

 

He tries to follow the scent, comparing it to Artemis' smell.

 

It's the same, and he soon finds Artemis tending to a patch of flowers in the garden.

 

"Oh. So I get to choose who I want."

"Hmm.. Let me think."

 

He nuzzles Artemis, humming happily.

"I mean, if you're looking for somewhere specific, go with him. He's the cartographer. Otherwise, it doesn't really matter."

 

Artemis jumps a bit, before realising it's Sgavrinn.

"Sgavrinn! I've missed you so much!" Artemis says happily, giving Sgavrinn a big hug.

 

His posture seems a bit off, like he's had a long day, but he doesn't seem tired.

He nods, sort of hugging back with a wing.

 

"Are you feeling alright? Where have you been?" Artemis asks, concerned.

 

He starts drawing in the dirt before pausing.
"Oh, right, I can talk with you. Uh... Ragnyon sent me home, but I got distracted and wound up exploring a forest for a while, then mountains. Then, something really weird happened. I sniffed a blue flower, and it puffed at me, and then I kept dreaming every time I fell asleep. There was always someone I met there, and they kept saying they wanted to meet you."
