“Look, I know you’re in the mood for backing out now. I ask you, once again, to hold on. You can escape, but we don’t have that option. If you leave, you’re leaving Ihra, Sgavrinn, Rineth, Amethyst, Ali, me... all to die or become hollow puppets once again. You and your friends are the only ace we have up our sleeves.” Emerald says, seeming worried.

“That’s what it all comes down to at the end of the day, I figure.”

 

"I'm not thinking about backing out, I'm trying to figure out how to do the impossible." I say, trying to give Emerald a confident smile.

A little uncertain, I decide to give Emerald a hug.

 

She seems startled before hugging you back.
“You had the nerve to go toe to toe with someone who could have just wiped you out of this hellhole of a reality. I think you can manage it.”

 

"Yeah, but I rather not talk about that day. It's good to look at the future, but not too far into it."

 

"I think school's going out for summer." I say, smirking.

 

Emerald smiles.
“Don’t get too reckless. Even when we try... you saw what happened to Abigail.” She says, concerned.

“True... anyhow, looks like they’re coming back now.”

 

My expression changes to a more depressed one.

"I don't think I could ever face Artemis as a nobody..." I say, sighing and looking away, "I'm just glad Abigail is safe again."

 

“I’m sorry for picking that scab. It is something you need to be wary of, though...”

 

"I know, we're not gods. We're still mortal." I say, seeming a bit distant.

 

“What were you trying to keep track of?”

 

"Hm? The guides?"
He looks around, still some bread in his mouth.

 

Emerald doesn’t say anything else.

 

"I'll go and get Artemis to see Gaia." I say, opening a portal to the realm of shadows.

 

“Drinks. Tolerance levels.”

A lioness and a hawk sitting on her shoulder approach you.
“Looking for guides, or meeting someone here?”

Emerald nods, teleporting away.

 

I step through the portal.


Shadow Stephanie looks for a way to end the simulation, looking bored.

 

“Ah.”
I try to remember how many drinks have been taken by each person while I was here.

 

Lenka notices this, ending it.
“You’ve been at this literally three days.” He sighs.
