Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I suppose it's hard to identify a god, anyways." She shrugs.


She flips the coin, and it lands on tails.
"I suppose that means the tests are over. Thanks for the cake, secret friend." She smiles, before the arena resets and you find yourself standing in the middle of the arena with a confused crowd.

 

"God can sometimes be used as goddess." Iz says.

A glowing orb of red darts about randomly nearby, before darting toward Xlentia.


I bow to the crowd, before heading to the exit.

 

Xlentia turns to it, confused.


The guards hold the gate open to let you out.
"You figure out who it was?"

 

“I will.”
I take the deck deal it out.

 

"Rotating, or fixed dealer?"
Do you deal to yourself?

 

It appears to be a faerie with silver armour. Her hair and eyes appear to be red, and she has a small watch on.

"A-Are you Xlentia?" The faerie says quickly, a slight twitch to her; like she's been drinking too much coffee.


I nod.

"Why did she want to fight me?" I ask.

 

She nods.
"Time to go?"


"She said she was worried about you having that blade. I doubt she's worried anymore."

 

"Yes, T-Temporus said things are reaaaaally bad with your brother, a-and you need to fix them." The faerie says quickly.


"I was gifted my blade by my goddess. I believe she would know if I was worthy of it." I say.

 

"He's probably off poking around some remote world nobody knows about." Xlentia says, rolling her eyes. "But if it's time, I'll head back."


"Perhaps it was also a test of her judgement?"

 

The faerie nods, before tapping her watch and zipping away.

Temporus appears a few moments later.

"Lady Xlentia," Temporus says, bowing slightly, "Sorry to interrupt your vacation in Gaia's Gardens earlier than expected, but I fear action needs to be taken soon."


I shrug.

"It was a wake up call for me at least." I say.

 

“Fixed, unless you’d like otherwise.”
Yes.

 

Xlentia seems a bit annoyed but nods.
"I'm not really the one to ask on that count, but if you need me to return to Emerald with some information, I've been here a while anyways."


"For what? You appeared to win the duel fairly handily."

He shakes his head.
You deal yourself pocket 9s, both red.
Al slides ten in for the blinds, Percy twenty. Mitch just folds.

 

"My apologies, but you have much greater power over the timelines concerning the hive master than we do." Temporus says, taking out what looks like an antique clock.


"Certainly." I nod.

 

Xlentia nods before turning to Iz.
"Want me to say hi to the current king for you?"


"What could you learn from a one sided duel?"

 

"Sure, I suppose. I don't think he knows me." Iz says.


"That I need more training." I say.

 

Xlentia nods.
"Consider it done."
She turns back to Temporus.
"Alright, I'm ready."


The guard just looks at you, confused.

 

Temporus inserts a key into the clock, and it begins rapidly spinning backwards. Xlentia feels herself get a little lighter, before a bright flash blinds her vision. When it clears, she's outside the entrance to the void palace, just after she originally left.


I decide to take my leave, smiling at the guard as I do.

 

She heads back to her chambers, content.


Once you're out of the arena, nobody approaches or tries to interact with you. The only person you recognize on your way out is the floor rumbling from Xlentia's return.

 

I dash over to Xlentia, following the rumbling of the floor to find her.

 

I put in twenty, wait two seconds, then flip over the next three.
