Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

It runs deeper into the vents before stopping suddenly and looking at Shadow Stephanie with some confusion.


Xlentia looks down towards the earth guardians, curious.


Emerald tries linking with you.
“Hey, is now a bad time?”

“True. Something’s better than nothing.”

“Yes, I’m in the back... give me just a moment, please.” She calls from a back room.

 

I continue trailing, silent.

 

"I'll just have a seat!" He yells back.

He does as he said and searched for a place to sit.
"Did you get effected by the storm aswell?" He calls.

 

Shadow Stephanie looks equally confused.


The earth guardians seem a little disrupted by Xlentia's heavy impact on the ground, vibrations seeming to make some of them dizzy.


"No, not at all. What's up?" I ask.

 

You eventually show up near a tavern.
“Alright, this is where we’ll be meeting for cards. I’m gonna go call it in early, I’ve got leave anyways.” Mitch says, stopping and turning back towards the courtyard.

The rat scrambles into a small crack in the wall, audibly disappearing somewhere she can’t follow.


“Sorry...” She sighs, trying to step more carefully.


“You got challenged to a duel in the Chronoseum. Says she wants to know how strong Shadow Katana is. Wouldn’t give me her name.”

There’s three empty benches.
“No, the barrier held. Your girl make it out okay?”

 

"Alright. See you in a bit."
I wave to him, then enter the tavern.

 

There’s three other knight in there, one with four decks of cards and the other with a case filled with poker chips.
The bartender seems to be just setting up, paying no mind to the three.

 

I lean against a wall away from the door, waiting for Mitch.

 

"Yeah, she's fine. But just like many others, she didn't appreciate it."

 

"Damn possession..." Shadow Stephanie mutters, looking for any alternative passages that lead along the wall.


Most of the earth guardians head back into their mines, telling any others what the commotion was.

An air guardian backs up into the side of Xlentia's head accidentally, a boomerang flying over her head.


"Sweet, I'll be right over." I say happily.

 

Fifteen minutes later, a few more people come in, but Mitch doesn’t show. The bartender approaches you.

“You’re a new face. Who’re you waiting on?”

“Nobody appreciates a bad storm. Glad to hear you both made it.”

There’s another ceiling passage, but she can hear something scratching in the walls again.


“Are you okay?” She asks, stopping the boomerang from flying off with a tentacle and glancing at the guardian.


“Head to the training room. Guards will wait to escort you into the arena. Be prepared, I don’t know if she’s friend or foe.”

 

"Guy named Mitch. He invited me to play poker."
I say, friendly.
"I'd sit down, but, I don't assume."

 

Shadow Stephanie puts her ear to the wall, trying to listen to where it's going.


"Hey, watch where you're...f-flying..." The air guardian says, annoyed. However, as they turn around and see Xlentia, they seem to lose confidence and annoyance.


I appear near to the void palace library a short while later, heading toward the training room casually; a dark hooded cloak covering most of my exterior appearance.

 

"How did our clothes turn out?"

 

It goes left, up, away, down, then seems to turn around, something dragging with it.


“I’m sorry, I... wait, am I flying?” Xlentia asks, looking down as the tentacle offers the guardian their boomerang.


Two guards wait outside the training room.
“Your foe awaits. Are you ready, and do you know the terms of the Chronoseum?” They ask, starting to walk towards the arena.

“That’s for you to decide. I’ll get them after I finish this garment, okay?”

“No, no, feel free. Might want to introduce yourself to his group. He tends to be late, anyways.”

 

"Alright, then."
I start making my way over to the table.

 

"Got it. I'll wait."

 

“Anything to drink?” He offers, pulling over an extra chair.
The other three seem a bit suspicious of you.

“I’ll try to make it quick if I need to. Where is your girl, anyways?”

 

"She went back to her place for a bit, she'll meet me here later."

 

"No thank you, I, ah, have trouble drinking."
I say as I take a seat, looking of the others.
"Hello."
