Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Shadow Stephanie follows her rat.


"I don't understand." Fia weeps.


"No, not at all." The fire guardian says respectfully.

 

"All kinds of visitors, I'd imagine."
I start walking off, exiting the courtyard.

 

It ducks under another drain gap in the floor.

"You warming up to the rat yet?"


"You don't have to." Petunia smiles.


Xlentia nods.
"Sorry to interrupt your beach time, then. This is my first time, so... it's sort of a big experience."

Mitch follows you a bit.
"Don't head right, that's the barracks, generals get ticked over nothing. Meet me back out here in an hour if you're out of questions, or I can just show you around anyways."

 

"I should check on my pack soon too."
He thinks.

"Sure, I'll see you there."

 

"No, not really." Shadow Stephanie says, climbing into the vent.


Fia just stays in Petunia's embrace a bit longer, enjoying the physical feeling.


"You didn't interrupt anything." The fire guardian says.

 

“You’re free to go get yourself caught, if you’d like.”

Another patrol passes by.


Petunia loosens up a bit.
“Don’t keep Praecantatia waiting too long.”


Xlentia nods.
“Well, don’t mind me, then.” She says, smirking in order to hide her teeth.

They’re where again? You confused me with the whole dream thing.

“Yeah, be there in about ten minutes.” Anne says, running off.

 

Shadow Stephanie tries to stay hidden.


Fia lets go, trying to smile.


Xlentia sees a water guardian emerge from the ocean near to the hut, taking a few dead fish into it. The dead fish appear have large bite marks in them, leaving a slight trail of blood. The forest guardian climbs up the palm tree again and grows two coconuts, one much larger than the other. The water and death guardian create the coconut drinks once more, and the water guardian with the fish exchanges them for the coconuts.

The water guardian heads into the ocean, but stops before it gets too deep. Xlentia sees a blue dragon's head emerge from the ocean near to the guardian, it's scales more fish-like. The water guardian creates an icy hand to hold the larger coconut drink, floating it over to the dragon who bites onto the bamboo straw. The water guardian smiles happily as she drinks from her own coconut, the dragon seeming to struggle a bit before simply tipping it's head up with the coconut to drink from it.

 

That doesn't seem to be a challenge.
It sounds like it's clear, but the rat doesn't leave the vent.


Petunia offers a smile before turning to Praecantatia, offering a hug.


Xlentia's gaze shifts to the blue dragon, curious.

 

(Somewhere on the main land. We're thinking they went to the mountains.)

"Sure, meet ya there."
He starts walking in the direction of the shapeshifter village.

 

Shadow Stephanie tries peeking through the vent.


Praecantatia tries to hug Petunia, smiling.


The dragon drops the coconut after it's finished drinking it, the coconut splashing into the water and floating. The water guardian gives the dragon a disappointed look, and the dragon reaches down and picks up the coconut in its mouth. The dragon emerges from the water, it's claws webbed and wings looking more adapted for the water; tail finned slightly. The dragon walks over to the hut and lowers it's head, dropping off the coconut. The water guardian working at the hut takes the coconut and pets the dragon, smiling. The dragon lets out a low growl appreciatively, before walking back to the ocean and what seems to be it's owner.

 

A similarly dressed woman stands just outside with dagger in hand.
“What, is your mark a sewer rat?”


Petunia hugs her, content.


Xlentia stretches her neck towards what seems to be its owner.
“Are dragons less rare here?”

(That was your inner voice)

It’s a calm walk, the gentle breeze carrying the smell of sea air over the hills.

 

Shadow Stephanie lets herself drop, trying to get out of sight.


Praecantatia gives Petunia a soft, warm hug for a short while, before letting go with a smile.


"Oh, hello. I haven't met a dragon that's spoken the common language before," The water guardian says, surprised, "What do you mean by less rare?"

 

"Mmm. It feels good to be back. Nice and peaceful."

 

“Show me around, this place seems nice.”

 

“Fill out the paperwork this time, will you? I’m tired of covering for you mooks!” They shout as Shadow Stephanie crawls down lower.


Petunia goes half-back to her undead body.
“I need to go. Dad’s getting impatient. Thanks for everything, Lady Praecantatia.


“Well, Gaia told me they’re almost extinct on Earth. I know this is different, I don’t know how different.” Xlentia says, sniffing a bit at the smaller dragon.

Mitch shrugs.
“I’d suggest the gardens, but you’ve probably seen enough flowers by now.”

Indeed. You think the gorgon is mad for us taking so long?

The guards at the village gate step aside, letting you by without a word.

 

Shadow Stephanie tries to avoid being seen, slipping down as quietly as possible.


"You're welcome." Praecantatia says happily.


"They are?" The water guardian asks, shocked. The dragon backs up a bit, intimidated.

 

She gets to a vertical tunnel before the rat starts squeaking in protest.


Petunia waves before vanishing.


“Hunted, or something. They’re under guardian protection, nowadays. At least, that’s what I hear.” Xlentia says, giving the dragon some space.

 

Shadow Stephanie waits a bit, before checking if there's anyone still around where she came from.


Praecantatia and Fia wave back, before the pair of them vanish too.


"That's terrible! How could anyone hunt something as majestic as a dragon." The water guardian says, petting her dragon.

 

The hall seems empty, the rat willing to leave the vent.


“Right?” Xlentia says, smiling. “Despicable... I’m just glad that blasphemy doesn’t happen in my domain.”

 

"I think she'll understand. She has probably heard something about the storm, right?"
