Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Lenka shrugs.
“Did you get my point or not?”


“I just split when I swap again. I need daddy to die, though. Everything’s gone after he wins...” She says, her stare distant.


“Would the boy recognize them at that age?”

 

"Yeah." Shadow Stephanie nods.


"Why can't you just be bound to one timeline?" Praecantatia asks.


"You don't really forget the faces of your parents. Something about them sticks with you." The fungal guardian says.

 

Lenka nods.
"It's just... when everyone's used to getting along, and everyone knows everyone, you're not just scarring one family, you're drawing attention from everyone."


"Mommy's a paradox. There's something bigger going on."


"But, wouldn't they look different from when the child passed?"

 

“Finishing the bulk of the work. It wasn’t just a passion project, it was a thing to make a profit off of servant robots.”

 

"Oh great, because everyone must become lazier over time." Mitch rolls his eyes. "All we ever do is work to stop working."

 

"Not if there's nobody left to remember them." Shadow Stephanie says with an evil smile, Stephanie's eyes flaring redder for a moment.


"What do you mean? Who's your mother?" Praecantatia asks.


"I guess? Not by much." The fungal guardian says.

 

"And that's why we think you're heartless." Lenka says bluntly.


"1502772792563539797162800385862615533." Petunia says, her voice so heavily distorted that it almost hurts to hear.


"Don't mortals look different as they age, though?"

 

"What if the people I kill have already killed innocent beings though?" Shadow Stephanie asks.


"What?" Praecantatia asks, confused.


"Yeah. Are you really that concerned about this one kid though? He's happy, shouldn't that be the important thing?" The fungal guardian asks.

 

"Unless you're not telling us something, I doubt you actually put that much effort into making sure you kill the right people."


"She is the mother of all paradoxes. She is, and isn't. Just like me." Petunia says, turning her stare towards Fia.


"I dunno. Not really, I guess? I mean, I've got my own followers to worry about." Xlentia shrugs.

 

"Humans kill hundreds of animals both directly and indirectly every day. Their lust for power and domination has killed millions, and they've yet to stop. Killing humans is hardly a crime when they've already and continue to set the balance of nature further off." Shadow Stephanie says.


"And is everything between..." Praecantatia mutters.

Fia looks scared, disappearing.


"Who are you anyway?" The fungal guardian asks.

 

"That's not research, that's the same racism you accused me of."


"At least you're the first person I don't have to try and explain that to. It's just never possible." Petunia says, turning back to Praecantatia and smiling.


"Xlentia, otherreality Deity of Decay, Destruction, and Darkness. You?" She asks, smiling.

 

"Eh, it's justifiable." Shadow Stephanie shrugs.


"So...why don't you kill your father yourself?" Praecantatia asks.


"Gari, a Fungal Guardian of Gaia's Gardens." Gari shrugs.

 

"No, you're just getting dirty for nothing. That's all."

 

"So you're saying that our racist bias against your kin is justifiable?"


"Because I can't do it. I can't touch weapons, and I can't use any magic except... whatever you want to call this."


"Nice to meet you. If you don't mind me asking, how long have you been here?"

"Well, I like the water, anyways." He yawns.

 

"What? No!" Shadow Stephanie says.


"I...don't know how to help you then." Praecantatia sighs.


"Gosh, I can't remember. I don't even remember how I died the first time. I think I died...two hundred and thirty years ago? Something like that?" Gari says, thinking.

 

“Yeah. It’s the ideal life for many people: not having to do anything in the present.”

 

"Then don't carry your bias over here!"


Petunia nods.
"My father is gonna die, right? You're gonna help kill him? I don't want to have to play again..."


"Oh, if you don't remember, that's okay. I'm usually kept cooped up in my chambers anyways." She shrugs. "I guess being a giant dragon made me have a habit of laying on a giant gold pile. I swear I'm not really evil."

"If I get that urge, I just don't show up. I don't understand the whole excuse crap."

 

"Wha-What bias!?" Shadow Stephanie asks.


"I can only hope." Praecantatia says.


"You wouldn't be here if you were evil." Gari says.

 

“That people who aren’t guardians tend to be inherently evil, or mind controlled.”


“...I don’t want to start over again.”


“Fair enough.” Xlentia laughs.

 

"Humans in our reality, dumbass!" Shadow Stephanie snaps.


"Start over?" Praecantatia asks.


"Have you been to the ocean yet? There's a great beach there if you can swim." Gari says, before realising Xlentia's size would probably make swimming in deep water a non-issue.
