"Really? Because blinking felt like a mini shadow travel, just without darkness being needed," Shadow Stephanie says, "Or me not possessing someone."


"You might be in danger. I'll tell Tenebrae to send Aj, I'm sure he'll be able to protect you." Praecantatia says.


The faerie glances up, before freezing, petrified; dropping all of her leaves.

 

“You can’t possess anyone as that class. You can’t shapeshift, either.”


“How the hell is Aj supposed to beat something that coordinates billions of armed spacecraft?!”


Xlentia looks horrified at their reaction, turning away with a sad look.

"I'm saying that if you think that's the case, then that's probably the case. I haven't gotten a good enough scale of everything, yet."

 

"What am I doing right now then?" Shadow Stephanie asks, moving Stephanie's arms about.


"What do you mean?" Praecantatia asks, still working on her code.


The faerie flies away, but bumps into a forest guardian who catches her before she hits the ground. The faerie appears to be familiar with the forest guardian and seems extremely scared of Xlentia.

 

“You can leave Stephanie, it’s reacting to her movements.”


“...Oh, it’s about you, isn’t it... Why can’t she take any hints? Nobody’s bested your system in ages, and you don’t actually plan on getting rid of her, do you?”


Xlentia sighs again, turning upwards before she does.

“Did you just come from a stupidly dense jungle? If so, I’m right.”

 

"Yep. That's the one."

 

"Hey, you really need to be careful. Maybe dig a bit deeper first?"

 

"Works just as well." Shadow Stephanie shrugs.


"Certain item's privacy can only be determined by it's owner." Praecantatia says.


Birds and Air Guardians fly above, seeming to be enjoying the air.

 

"Yeah... so, we're in a weird system. Every thousandish years, our moon switches the planet it orbits, and then we get flooded."

"You know, maybe I should just not."

"Well, you're free to play around with faction abilities, so... you walking the path of good, evil, or neutral?"


Emerald snickers.
"Well, I was going to ask this anyways, but do you by chance have a tome or two I could page through?"


She pauses, then tries to maintain the updraft.

 

"You mean not dog at all? Maybe dig from a farther location."

 

“Is that what’s happening on the other planet right now?”

 

"I'd say I'm probably perceived as evil." Shadow Stephanie says.


"I'll see if I have any spare research books lying around." Praecantatia says.


The air guardians seem perfectly capable of moving the winds themselves, a small group of them playing with a carved wooden boomerang.

"I have evil give a few more brute force abilities, neutral is more trickery, and good focuses on cc and sustain."


"I appreciate it. Is there anything I can do in return?"


Xlentia just watches, looking for Gaia after a while.

"Well, I can swim. I just won't fight the current. Your friend can fly you over one at a time, or I guess I could drag one of you with me."
"Flying." Anne says hastily.

 

"Neutral then." Shadow Stephanie says.


"A favor in reserve would be helpful." Praecantatia says.


Gaia doesn't appear to be in the forest, nor in sight.

 

"Yeah, I think flying is a bit safer."

"Does that sound okay with you, wyvern?"

 

A few more pockets appear in her cloak.
"Smoke bombs blind, sonic bombs deafen, and a bit of neurotoxin."


"It'll depend on what it winds up being, but consider it done. I'm not going to up and hand over my archive."


Xlentia looks for a nearby forest guardian.

"Hopefully you lot aren't too heavy." He nods.

 

"Do they affect me too?" Shadow Stephanie asks.


"I wouldn't ask for it." Praecantatia says, sounding a little offended.


There appears to be a forest guardian practising their archery with some targets hung up on a tree, pulling their bow back far.

 

"Some of us aren't." He smiles.
