Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I understand. Also, the security you have is... strange. Magitech is new to me, but I've been filling my databanks with knowledge I've been extracting from Earth and the Void Palace Library. And, because you're new here, I'll give you a free pass..."
Pause, before the display takes on a slightly redder hue.
"I am not a network - I have full control of everything that goes through me, and only me. Not even Idhaenna can access all of my databanks, and you simply cannot crack my ciphers without my aid... And if you doubt my abilities to protect even the smallest secrets my users wish to keep, I'll direct you to your pick of ten quintillion beings who will disagree." She says, offended.


"I didn't know she wasn't that upset with it..."

"I'm not calling Max over here. I want you to carry her inside sooner over later. Clear?"

 

As the orb flashes a few colors, Voidfiller portals in right next to where he left Keila.
"Which building?"

 

The ziz holds the door to town hall open with its beak, its rider buried in its plumage.

 

Voidfiller pulls the pillow a bit, testing the weight.

 

It doesn't budge.
Seems Keila's winds were more of a help than anticipated.

 

"Eve is precious to us, The King especially. I'd hate to see her code be hacked and her will be forced." Shadow Stephanie says.


Katie decides to sit down, the area freezing around her as she looks sad.

 

Stella looks heartbroken.
"...A-anyhow, what can I help you with?"


Xlentia remains well-buried in gold, letting out the occasional roar.

 

Voidfiller thinks for a moment, then re-opens a portal to his home, then summons a whistle and blows it into the portal.
He then steps aside half a minute later, as at least a dozen golems rush out, standing attentively.
Or, as attentively as a soulless, mindless being can stand.

 

The ziz glances at them curiously, one talon reaching for the closest golem.

 

The golem doesn't react, but before the talon can touch it, all the golems are working their way around and under the pillow, trying to hoist it up and carry it to the town hall.

 

"Look, you can see Eve on the condition you restrict yourself to mortal boundries. Physical interaction, and no opening her up either," Shadow Stephanie says, rolling her eyes, "I'm sure you can understand wanting to keep something precious to you safe from outside forces."


Katie ends up frozen in a glacier, looking sad.

 

Stella shakes her head.
"No, I understand the issue of privacy. However, I'm not taking you comparing me to the Hive Master lightly. Pick the program you want to run wisely - I'm only letting you experience one for that remark." She says, irritated.


Xlentia comes out ten minutes later, looking at Katie's glacier with confusion.

The ziz winds up just watching, getting a bit tired of holding the door after about a minute.

 

They carry the pillow towards the town hall in a coordinated march.

 

The people inside part as the golems march in.
"...Thanks, Voidfiller." The rider says begrudgingly from the ziz' plumage.

 

"No problem."
Voidfiller enters as well, looking for a proper place to put her down.

 

The entryway is big enough that it hardly matters.
"Anywhere is fine, sir." The mayor comments from his office.

 

The golems stop moving, the edges of the group holding up the sides so that the others can get out from under, then dropping the pillow down.

 

A few papers get kicked up by the resulting puff of wind, but nobody else really reacts.

 

Voidfiller opens a portal, and all the golems rush through while maintaining single file.
"I take it that my work here is done for now?"

 

"I wasn't comparing you to the hive master. I was just being protective of Eve. Eve is like a child to us. Though you probably don't know what having a child feels like." Shadow Stephanie says, looking through the programs.


Katie just sits in the glacier looking sad and defeated.
