Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Lenka glances around blankly.
"I, uh... have no idea."

 

Praecantatia takes out a simple mage rune, before throwing it to Lenka.

"Here, try focusing your power into this." Praecantatia says.

 

"Focusing what power?"

 

"You...don't feel any sort of connection? Any feeling of untapped power?" Praecantatia asks.

Stephanie summons a mage crystal of her own, holding it up and charging it with magic to the point it glows softly.

 

Lenka just looks at the crystal, confused.
"I... don't know what you're talking about?"

 

"Look inside of yourself, imagine magic flowing from your fingertips into the crystal. Imagine the feeling of it's power running through you." Praecantatia guides.

 

Lenka seems confused before looking at the rune... then quickly looking away once it glows rather brightly.

 

"Careful not to overcharge it, it'll explode." Praecantatia says, the crystal dimming as she saps some of it's magic.

 

"How do you control that?!" Lenka asks, letting go with one hand.

 

"You'll get a feel for it. Magic is like flowing water, you can guide it, but you can't force it. A careful touch is what's required." Praecantatia says.

 

"I didn't know we had magic... I never bothered learning."

 

"Every being needs magic to live, at least in my reality." Praecantatia says.

 

"I think that's different here. I mean, robots and cybernetics and such."

 

“Come on, come on, I’m not paying you to dillydaddle.”
Voidfiller address the boys, who come to attention.
“It works very well, you’ll like it. Probably.”
He turns to Keila as the dark haired pulls out what looks to be a scroll.

 

Keila nods, waiting.
"Being here is more tiring. I'm with you on the pace."

 

"Robots can be powered by magic, too." Praecantatia says.

 

"How so?"

 

"It can be used as a replacement or booster for electricity, as well as adding a few things normal power doesn't." Praecantatia explains.

 

"Adding things...?" Lenka asks, interested.

 

Voidfiller nods.
“Now, for context, these two aren’t that powerful casters. They’re no novices, but they’re nothing close to pros.”
The black haired one opens the scroll and looks to Voidfiller for validation.
“Go ahead.”
The boy starts chanting and holding his hand into the air, and suddenly, a giant inferno of fire bursts above his head, easily taller than fifteen feet and wider than six.
Both boys look like they start to struggle to keep it up.
“How long could you hold this up?”
Voidfiller shouts to the boys over the flames.
“Twenty seconds!”
“Thirty five!”
Voidfiller turns around to load a dart into a gun that seems familiar to Keila.
