Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“They can regenerate from a disembodied limb.”
The entire blob, hold one part, goes red, then black.
“...Damnit, he’s going to want a new toolbelt.”

A blob slowly creeps in from the door Lenka brought Praecantatia in.
“Hey, boss? Can I, uh-“
“Toolbelt, yes. Did you finish the repair?”
“Yeh.”
“Alright, go rest.”
“Okay... see you tomorrow...”
Lenka rolls his eyes.

 

"So they're like a slime, I see." Praecantatia comments.

 

“Sort of, yeah.”

 

“No. I just got them. That’s why I’m smoking.”

 

"This one is really stuck."
He waits for a bit and looks at Sgavrinn.

"I have to pull this one out, buddy. It'll cause an infection if I don't. And it will just hurt more."

 

Keila sighs.
“Let me know when you’ve made sure it works.”

He howls, hesitant.

 

“Yeah. Will do.”
He grins, putting the circlets away.

 

"I'll be careful, you know that right?"
He places his hands on the big thorn and slowly tries to pull it out again.

 

"Are their regenerative properties put to use elsewhere?" Praecantatia asks.

 

“Only if the host is willing.”

He howls again, pained.

“Keep me in the loop.”

 

"Oh, you haven't used it without them present?" Praecantatia asks, a little surprised.

 

“I’m guessing that you’ll want to see them in use?”

 

“It’s a genetic trait. Anything that regenerates requires one present, or nanomachines.”

“Once you’ve made sure it works, yes.”

 

“Great, see you then.”
The image goes away, leaving Keila with the blank ball.

 

"Have you tried experimentation with the genes?" Praecantatia asks.

 

She pockets it, silent.

“Some. That’s sort of frowned upon, though, since experimenting with sentient beings is high on the list of shady acts.”

 

"What if your experimentation wasn't direct though?" Praecantatia asks, taking out a pinkish-red potion.

 

“What are you proposing?” Lenka asks, suspicious.

 

A few hours later, the ball lights up again in a light-blue color.

 

She takes it out of her pocket.
