Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The captain nods.
"Well, I hope you're not disappointed with our progress. Come to the left flank, bay's open. I'll head down there myself. Still something about talking face to face that's irreplacable."

 

Praecantatia heads to the left flank, leading Stephanie with her and watching Idhaenna.

 

Idhaenna just watches, talking with a few spirits.
There's a faint blue window, the captain waiting within as a smaller ship flies out of it.

 

Praecantatia teleports over with Stephanie.

 

"Oh, we'll have to take a look at that once we're out of the garden."

 

The captain bows again.
"Well, I can't say I've met a second god in the flesh. It's an honor. Welcome to my ship, if you've got any questions or want to take a look at something, let me know and I'll make sure you have the clearance to do so."

A few bees land near the blood, but they're too small to know how they're reacting.

 

"Thank you. Do you think you could give my daughter and I a tour?" Praecantatia requests.

 

He continues following Sgavrinn, ignoring the bees.
"Come on, let's get out of this garden."

 

“Absolutely. I made sure my schedule was clear. Do you have any preferences on where to begin?”

Another ship comes in through the plane and lands nearby, though it’s absolutely silent.

He nods, walking even faster.

 

Praecantatia looks toward the other ship.

"What ship is that?" Praecantatia asks, suspicious.

 

“Oh, that’s just a mining vessel. I decided that we may as well dig around a bit and see if we can pull in any extra credit while we’ve got downtime. Anything anyone digs up is theirs. No quotas, only limits on how long you can be out. Can’t let one person hog all the bonuses.”

 

Bardock follows him until they are both out of the garden.

 

At that point, Sgavrinn lays down in the middle of the path and tries to cover his wounds with vines, quietly whimpering.

 

"Interesting..." Praecantatia says, thinking.

 

He stands next to him, hanging over him.
"Are you sure you should be laying down here?"

 

“What, something wrong with that? I figure we’ve got the equipment on board, may as well get a little use out of it.”

Another furred kobold hops out of the ship’s cockpit.
“Hey, cap, there’s a decent gold vein. Can I go out with the next flight?”
“Get a bite to eat first, you were out there four hours. After that, go ahead, but split the load.”
“Will do, thanks! And hello visitors!” They say happily, sprinting off.

 

"You're kind to your crew. I respect that." Praecantatia says, smiling.

 

“My tribe decided to join me when I enlisted, despite wanting me to stay on our homeworld at first. Nowadays, even the ones on here who aren’t literal family feel like family.” They say, trying to keep a formal face. “I wouldn’t have anyone else as a crew, and I hope they wouldn’t have anyone else as a captain.”

 

"I'm glad to hear that. You're sure to go far if you stick together." Praecantatia says happily.

 

“Well, we’re on a custom built arkship worth twenty planetary masses. I’d say we’re doing pretty well.” The captain says, letting out a smile.
