Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Again, I hope you can forgive me for that." Idhaenna sighs.
Pause.
"Well... shall I show you a few marvels of my engineers? I managed to find three arkships that weren't in the middle of a job."

 

"I'd love to see them." Praecantatia says happily.

 

Idhaenna smiles, heading away from the room Praecantatia was just in and moving towards what appears to be a destroyed part of the station.
"I guess we can just take the shortcut out of the gaping hole. I figure we should start with the smaller arkship and end with the largest. I couldn't get a singularity class, though, but we'll see one when I show you the solar system under relocation."

 

"A solar system under relocation? How is that possible?" Praecantatia asks, surprised, following and keeping Stephanie close.

 

"So, there are three grades of technology. Civilian grade, which is most of what you'll see. Military grade, which is what those mechs are, and then top tier, which isn't usually named, and that's exclusive to me and my most devoted followers."
Pause.
"...Wait, that didn't really answer your question. Uh... I don't think I'll be able to explain it to you, unless you're familiar with the practical applications of antimatter, singularities, transition planes and their interactions with supernova-levels of energy, and..."
Another pause.
"...I think it's best I just don't try."

 

"I've spent my time studying the magic of my universe. I think Cel-, Caelia would understand that a lot better." Praecantatia says, glancing down at Stephanie.

Stephanie summons her large book, offering it to Idhaenna to read through.

 

Idhaenna seems a bit hesitant to reach for the book.
"I'll take a look through it once we get to the arkships. First stop is the Lunar Class passenger ship, and that's a few systems away. Either of you ever used FTL travel before?"

 

"Teleportation seems far more efficient." Praecantatia says.

 

Idhaenna shrugs.
"Opening portals has a tendency to distort space. FTL just gets rid of that issue."

 

"Well, not all teleportation requires the use of a portal." Praecantatia comments.

 

"I mean, you're free to teleport, but I don't know if Stella would like it. She's sort of the intergalactic air traffic control, and she hasn't dealt with anyone using teleportation in a while." Idhaenna shrugs, body slowly turning more and more ethereal.

 

"Is she against the usage of magic?" Praecantatia asks.

 

"No, but the number of anomalies and misteleports caused her to frown upon it."

 

Praecantatia sighs.

"I hope she doesn't mind it's proper use." Praecantatia says.

 

"She said she'd make an exception for you and your daughter. The airspace is clear. Here, you'll be teleporting to this location." Idhaenna says, a hologram appearing in her place as she vanishes.
It marks a tiny point off in the distance, with a zoomed in hologram showing a more exact location in the target solar system.

 

Praecantatia carefully picks Stephanie up, before teleporting to the location.

 

Idhaenna waits near a holographic display, showing the control room of a nearby starship that's the size of a moon.
"You must be the goddess we were told about. It's an honor." A uniformed furred-kobold creature says, bowing.
There's a hologram in front of their left eye, and they seem to be paying only most of their attention to Praecantatia.

 

"It's nice to meet you too." Praecantatia says with a smile. Stephanie nods.

 

"If you don't mind me leading with the questions, what brings you here? Also, if you are able to shrink yourself, you're welcome to come aboard."
Idhaenna turns invisible off to the side.

 

Praecantatia keeps track of Idhaenna, able to see her.

"I've come here to visit the goddess Idhaenna, to see the technology here." Praecantatia says, shrinking to mortal size again and taking Stephanie by the hand.
