Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Certainly," Praecantatia says, glancing down at Stephanie, "This way, Stephanie."

Stephanie taps the crystal on her chestplate again, causing the creatures to disappear as she walks over to her mother's side.

 

“Stephanie’s a pretty name. Did you just pick it out of the blue?” Idhaenna asks, sinking through the floor.

 

"Somewhat. I spent a lot of time thinking about baby names before I had her, but when I saw her, I knew Stephanie was the right name." Praecantatia says, smiling.

 

“I must say, it is a nice name.” She smiles. “Now, if you two could go through the transition plane and then follow me, the repair bays should have a mech or two I can send you home with.”

 

"Oh, that's awfully kind of you, but you don't need to." Praecantatia says.

 

"Your daughter's shadow rejected a batch of gifts. They're all yours if you're interested in studying some of our civilian-grade tech, mech and Nova sniper included." Idhaenna shrugs, sinking all the way out of the room.

 

"Well, for the purpose of research, I can see a use." Praecantatia says, trying to keep track of Idhaenna.

 

She can't see through the floor easily.
"...You coming, or are you not a fan of transition planes?"

 

"Oh, my apologies." Praecantatia says, before focusing. Praecantatia enters the spiritual plane, before following Idhaenna. Stephanie follows shortly after, fox mask present.

 

Idhaenna moves towards a room outline filled with hundreds of mechs in repair mounts, stopping just before entering.

 

Praecantatia follows, stopping outside too; as does Stephanie.

 

“There’s not enough room for all of us right now, but you two go on in. I’ll wait for you to finish up out here.”

 

Praecantatia gives Idhaenna an odd look, before heading into the room. Stephanie doesn't follow.

 

The room is just about filled with mechs, Praecantatia bumping into one while entering.
“Who th-oh, you must be Idhaenna’s guest.” An apparently irritable harpy says after a half-shout. “Welcome to the repair bay... we’re a bit busier than usual.”

 

"What happened to all of these mechs?" Praecantatia asks.

 

“Hive Master managed to salvage a bit of tech by picking on fringe planets. We made sure to send him clean back to square one, so he’d have to do it all over again if he wants to launch another strike.”

 

"That's good to hear." Praecantatia says, nodding.

 

“So, what brings you here today, miss... uh... sorry, could I get your name?”

 

"Praecantatia, Goddess of Magic." Praecantatia explains.

 

“Ah, you’re from the other reality. It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m Lust, and no I did not have a say in it.”
