Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I'd like to speak with Idhaenna." Praecantatia states politely.

The knight looks at the two creatures, though it's expression is impossible to tell. It's body language doesn't reveal a lot either.

 

"Uh..." The gryphon utters.
"I'll bring you there. I need to ask her about a delivery, anyways." The other creature says.
"You're still on the clock."
"I don't care. Call it a sick day."
"The other uplink engineers aren't-"
"Either you let me go now, or I'm taking my vacation week."
The gryphon grumbles, nodding as they head off.
"Sorry about that, boss can be a handful sometimes. Nice to meet you, I'm Pearl-Burakre." She smiles.

They don't pay the knight much mind, more concerned with Praecantatia.

 

"Nice to meet you, can I call you Pearl?" Praecantatia asks, smiling.

The knight looks around for empty space, realizing their lack of activity in the conversation.

 

"Sure. Anyhow, follow me. Idhaenna should still be in her chambers." Pearl says, heading off towards a distorted wall covered in odd holograms.

 

"Is this realm of her creation?" Praecantatia asks, glancing back at the knight who hurries to her side.

 

Pearl giggles.
"This isn't a gateway to another realm, it's a transition plane from the land of the living to the spectral planes. If you aren't keen on losing physicality for a bit, you might want to find someone to digitize you because I can't see you fitting through the vent system."

 

"I'm fine with it, but I'll just need one moment." Praecantatia says, stopping and reaching into the pockets of the jacket she's wearing. Praecantatia takes out a necklace with a green gem, though it looks minuscule between her large fingers. She kneels down, offering it to the knight who takes it. The knight simply puts it around their neck without removing their armour, the green gem glowing softly.

 

"Alright, I'll give you a moment to figure how to move about, then I'll bring you to Idhaenna's chamber." Pearl says, stepping through the plane as her body seems to dissolve.

 

Praecantatia steps through. The knight follows, whose armour dissolves in the process. However, their necklace remains and a fox mask covers their face; their clothing looking bland. Praecantatia seems to be able to move fine through the spectral planes, as if already well versed in it, while the knight seems a little more confused.

 

Pearl seems to swim off in the distance, merging with a crowd of spirits moving like a flowing river.

 

Praecantatia begins to follow, before slowing down and helping her knight companion.

 

Pearl can be seen off in the distance leaving the flowing movement of the crowd, heading towards what seems to be a giant three-walled room.

 

Praecantatia guides the knight through, taking a little longer to follow in Pearl's path, but following it nonetheless.

 

Once she gets there, there seems to be another transition plane, a massive gryphon soul preening in the middle of the room.

 

Praecantatia guides her knight through the plane as she steps through; seeing what effects the transition has.

 

It just causes her body to reform in the room, Pearl already talking with the gryphon that seems to only be paying half attention.
“...So can you spare the forces to get the tech over to my cousin?”
“Yes, yes. That’s nothing. Now, would those two be the visitors you spoke of?”
Pearl turns.
“Oh, glad you made it. Yes, they are. Never gave me their names, though.”

 

The knight's armour seems to reform with it, keeping them hidden.

"I'm Praecantatia, the goddess of magic in another reality." Praecantatia says, briefly showing her time necklace.

 

"Ah, nice to meet you. It would seem you know my name, but I may as well introduce myself anyways. I am Idhaenna, goddess of the skies, stars, and spirits. What brings you here during the palace reconstruction?" She asks, glancing suspiciously at the knight.

 

"Well, if you've been asleep for two weeks, your body shouldn't be alive anymore."

 

“Wait... I can’t go back? I’m stuck here?! No, that can’t be right, I gotta wake up!” They say, pacing back and forth.
