Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

David looks at the computer a bit before getting up, grabbing a bag from beside his front door, slipping on his shoes and heading out.


Praecantatia steps through a portal into the void palace, near to the library. An amethyst coloured knight follows her closely behind, albeit much smaller comparatively. Armour covers all of it's body, and it's helmet obscures it's face.

 

Emerald seems to just be leaving.
"Oh... good evening, Lady Praecantatia. I'm terribly sorry, if you arranged something prior I've forgotten." She says, bowing.

 

"I should really apologise. Gaia recommended I see a god here by the name of Idhaenna, though I haven't arranged a meeting with her." Praecantatia explains.

The knight looks at Emerald, before nodding respectfully.

 

"Oh, of course. Could you give me a moment to make sure she's not busy at the moment?"

Off to the side, the knight notices a hydra in hideous shape dragging themselves, their guts, and three heads out of the palace.

 

"That would be extremely helpful." Praecantatia says with a smile.

A blade appears in the knight's gauntlet, the knight keeping it readied by their side should the hydra try to attack.

 

Emerald nods, heading off into the library.
...
A few minutes later, a portal opens into what seems to be a mech repair room.

The hydra doesn't even look towards them, slowly leaving the palace.

 

Praecantatia glances toward the library, looking for Emerald. The knight decides to step closer to the portal, curious.

 

Emerald peeks out.
"...Sorry, that leads to her palace. I got caught up with an ambush."

There's a mix of harpy, humans, robots, furred kobold-like creatures, and more working on damaged mechs, apparently supervised by a gryphon that just strolls around and makes notes.

"Different bodies. Are you not a bee in the awake world?"

 

"Are you alright?" Praecantatia asks, concerned, glancing at the knight momentarily.

The knight turns around, looking toward Emerald.

 

Hush, we're not to the afterstory yet. Come back later.

"No, I'm a normal person. I live in a desert so I couldn't keep a garden, but I kept dreaming I could, and... now I'm a bee. In a garden."

"Of course. The people who were ambushed aren't, but I'm fine." She shrugs.

 

Praecantatia gives a concerned look, before turning and heading through the portal. The knight follows her quickly, staying beside her.

 

Emerald waves, the portal closing behind the duo as they enter.

One of the kobold-like creatures gets the gryphon's attention, and the two approach Praecantatia.
"Hello, can we help you?"

 

"But you can still go back to your normal life, right?"

 

"Yeah, by waking up. I think. I like it here, though, and nobody's tried to wake me up."

 

"How long have you been here?"

 

"I've been here two weeks."

 

"Two weeks. And you've been asleep the entire time?"

"I believe this person is dead in the awake world." He thinks.

 

"I think so, yeah. I don't know if dead people can be here."
