"What?" Xlentia asks, a bit annoyed by now.
"Lady Xlentia and Lady Gaia, I assure you it will be okay. The Hive Master doesn't have our tech. We've reset all the progress he made on reverse engineering the remains of our machinery. Stella-"
Xlentia interrupts the captain.
"Wait, I bet you could make Idhaenna hear you out through Stella!"

 

Gaia just smiles to herself.

 

"Yeah. Both places are equally as crazy it seems."

 

"Definitely a whole lot to wrap your head around. Even harder to do it asleep."

Ihra tries to link with Gaia.
"...Is something wrong?"

 

"No, the state of your reality amuses me." Gaia says.

 

"Well, if one of your children was bad, would you punish all of them, or just the one? I think that's what Xlentia's trying to get at. Besides, I think Xlentia gets bored watching mortals fight with sticks."

 

"I just rolled with it. Not much I can do about it."

 

"Fair enough. I dunno how people manage to write books about this stuff, though."

 

"So it was seen fit to make them gods?" Gaia asks.

 

“Stella’s not a god, though.” Ihra says, confused.

 

"She's close to one." Gaia says.

 

“It’s inpossible for her to be one, though.” Ihra says, more confused. “What do you count as a god?”

 

"An immortal being with immense power, in basic terms." Gaia says.

 

“Well, that’s the start of the misunderstanding. Here, you’re a god if your blood makes you seal instead of die. But, by that, I can see how you’d think Stella was a god. Though... don’t you need to be alive to be immortal? Or have flesh, or something?”

 

"She is conscious through AI." Gaia says.

 

“Fair enough... but I don’t get why that’s a bad thing. She’s so nice, it’s like having a second Gaia.”

 

Gaia narrows her eyes at Ihra.

 

“...Third.” She says sheepishly.

 

"She acts like a goddess, but she is not truly one. Your reality allows the creation of such powerful beings, it's not surprising we're facing the threat of the hive master." Gaia comments.

 

Ihra nods.
“Sorry to bring it up... but you realize that if you think we’re going overboard and your children are going toe to toe with the Hive Master, then your children are equally strong?”
