"Thanks, but apparently that sort of thing happens to her all the time." Alex sighs.

 

"...I wouldn't be surprised. She doesn't seem like much of an attacker."

 

"I meant she apparently wants to, since she's very powerful and can fend for herself easily." Alex says.

 

"Huh..."
Crystal thinks for a bit.

 

Alex sniffs the air.

"I smell flowers..." Alex comments, looking around.

 

"Yeah... what'sat?"
Crystal joins Alex in looking.

 

"I don't know, but they smell fresh. Maybe there's a flower delivery going through here?" Alex guesses.

 

"I don't think Xlentia usually gets those..."

 

Xlentia turns.
"Ah, good morning, Miss Gaia! I hope you find your home untroubled these days." She says happily.


Ihra taps on Alex's shoulder.
"Surpriiiise." She smirks.

 

"Are you sure we're walking on the path?"

"Ferret, is this the path we're supposed to follow?"

 

“Yeah, why? Something wrong?”

 

"Sgavrinn stepped in some thorns. That's why."

 

"Where is it coming from?" Alex asks, before noticing a gigantic forest guardian approaching and bowing down as low as he can.

"Things have been rather peaceful. My children have been happy." Gaia says elegantly, smiling, her good mood seeming to give anyone around her energy and healing.


"Huh?" Alex asks, turning, before falling as low as he can in a bow, not daring to look at Gaia.

 

"Woah..."
Crystal just stares, not bowing.

 

"That's Gaia. Don't just stare at her, you'll look rude!" Alex whispers.

 

"Uh, right."
Crystal looks elsewhere, but his bulbous eyes give the impression that he's still looking at Gaia.

 

Alex just stays bowing, not daring to raise his gaze upward; as if he was confronted by a gorgon.

 

"...How long do you usually bow?"
Crystal asks, an eye drifting around his head to look at Alex.

 

"That's great to hear! I hope you don't mind a few mortal guests for your ride. I appreciate the trouble you took to come here, but I haven't been out in months, and I'd like to have a few people I could talk to about this trip that live closer to me." Xlentia says, lowering herself.
"Oh... and I know this is silly, but is my armor paint scratched up again? I had it repaired, but I can't really see my back and Emerald won't let me take it off."

 

"Until she permits you to raise." Alex says.

"Not at all, I've recently attended a meeting with the other gods where a half-mortal you know attended it. She was much better behaved this time." Gaia says, before looking at Xlentia's armour paint.
