Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“Whaddya mean?”

 

“...I see your problem now.”


Oops.
There’s some shark-like tail sticking out from the surface, and a shrub shaking next to it.
“Oh, hi.” The dryad says quietly.

“I think you were lying there.”

 

"Yeah, it's hard to get by from money we find on the ground." Gil says.


"Hello." Alex says softly, smiling.

 

“Mmm.”
Crystal groans, unsure of what to say.

 

“You sure you don’t want me to try finding a job?”


The shrub starts getting pulled under.
“You a new servant?”

“You sure you’re okay?”

 

"No, it's fine. We're trying to gather enough money to see the king of shadows, I'm sure he'd be willing to help." Gil says hopefully.


Alex shakes his head.

"No, I'm a visitor here. I come from Earth." Alex says.

 

“I... think I can help there.”


“Oh. That’s too bad.” They sigh, the shrub soon being replaced with a rugged and ridged shark-ish-snout.

 

"Really?" Gil asks.


"Why's that?" Alex asks.

 

“I got here by talking to him and the queen.” Pozel shrugs.


“My pet’s been a bit adverse to getting back in its terrarium. You seem to be well versed in earthen magic.”

 

“Yeah. Why wouldn’t I be?”

 

"Oh, you've spoken to them? That's...surprising." Gil says.


"I am an earth guardian." Alex says proudly, smiling.

 

“Yeah. Personally.”


“Could you try to make her happier in there?”
The shark-thing wiggles its scaly snout towards Alex.

 

"How did you end up speaking to them?" Gil asks.


"Sure, what do you want me to do?" Alex asks.

 

“You seem to be hiding something.”

“I came and asked if I could live here for a bit.”


“I dunno, the soil is moist enough and fine, but I guess it’s missing a mineral or something.”
The shark-thing burrows itself out of sight.

 

"It...was that easy?" Gil asks, shocked.


"Hm, can I have some of the soil?" Alex asks.

 

“For me, yes. I brought back the queen since she fell unconscious in Lady Idhaenna’s temple.”


“Go ahead, but be careful. She does bite.”

 

“Mmm-mm.”
He shakes his head.
“So, why did you want to meet me?”

 

“You seemed really into watching the fight earlier.”

 

"Wow, did she give you any special rewards for that?" Gil asks.


Alex looks for a way to open the terrarium if it's closed, otherwise telekinetically lifting out a lump of dirt.

 

“I got let out of prison for carrying her back here.”


It’s an open-top, though the shark-thing presses itself against the glass away from the dirt Alex took.
