Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Yeah, if you have one around here somewhere. Or maybe a bar or something?"

 

“Do you think it’s smart to destroy the top adviser of a goddess who could rip your soul from your body by blinking, or ensure you never rest after your death?”


“I’m sure she’d bother rescuing you again if she did that.”


“We could go ask the police. Can you walk?”

Maqo splits his body and goes to cut the satchel apart, the other part trying to disorient the other creature.

 

"She sounds more of a tyrant than a goddess." Gil says.


Abigail just sighs, drinking her tea.


The boy nods, getting up shakily.

 

“Yeah, we have a whole globe thing lined with plants and flowers.”

“Far from it. In fact... I bet you could meet her right now. Speak with the goddess of skies, stars, and spirits.”


“There’s this thing called tact.”


Ihra offers him a claw to help stand up.

 

"You run up ahead and I'll follow you."

 

He darts ahead without another word, running towards an obelisk.

 

The one racing towards the satchel just rises the earth right over Maqo’s half, while the tackled one slips out and gets up, starting to race over himself.

 

Gil looks rather scared at the idea.

"I'd rather be accompanied by Nymphaeria if that's the case."


"Telling someone to go to hell and making them enjoy the idea of going there?" Abigail asks, looking up from her tea.


The boy holds onto Ihra's claw tightly, scared.

 

“Okay, I won’t make a link.”


Alice smiles.
“You are the second least tactful person I know.”


“Hey, it’ll be okay. You’ve got a dragon on your side.” She says, offering a gentle smile.

Maqo keeps trying to cut up the satchel.

 

Gil lets out a sigh of relief.


"Who's the least?" Abigail asks.


"D-Dragons eat people." The boy says, scared.

 

He succeeds, some broken syringes and some blue liquid falling out before a pillar of earth rises up and encases the bag.
The recently-tackled creature seems to be controlling this pillar, while the other creature, now a large amalgamation of flesh and limbs, quickly rolls towards Maqo and the bag.

 

“Hey, don’t worry about it. Could be worse - she could be mind controlled by some insane warmonger.”


“My queen. You probably edge her out in the general rudeness department, though.”
Pause.
“If you couldn’t guess, I’m a close third.”


“Not all of them. Only the ones who lost their parents like you did.” Ihra says, resting a wing on his shoulder.

Maqo goes after the creature controlling the ground, a massive gust of wind causing the pillar to tip slightly.

 

"That seems a lot worse." Gil says flatly.


"You have a queen?" Abigail asks, surprised.


The boy seems even more scared, crying a bit more.

After passing an alley, the boy starts tugging at Ihra to go down it.

"I-I-I t-think I s-saw m-mummy!" The boy says.

 

The creature doesn’t bother steadying it, instead focusing and preparing for Maqo’s approach.
The amalgamation speeds up the rolling as it gets very close to the bag.

 

“Yeah, it would be.”


“No shit, I’m a shadow. Earth to Abigail, you’re friends with her.”


Ihra uses her staff to let out a calming aroma.
“Then let’s go that way.” She says, turning.

There’s a small ring in the middle of the bag and its remaining contents, Maqo using another gust to tip the pillar over towards the amalgamation.

 

The amalgamation tanks the pillar and takes the bag, sucking the bag inside its fleshy mass and tossing the pillar to the side. It then continues towards Maqo and the other creature, though it’s slower now.
If Maqo was paying attention, he would’ve seen the other creature physically react to the amalgamation being hit.

 

The ring detonates with a sonic boom, Maqo sending part of his body into the ground to uppercut the other creature with a dagger.

 

The amalgamation stops rolling towards the two, but the other creature seems more physically affected.
The creature jumps back a bit, but Maqo still manages to get a good slash in.

 

Maqo sends the other half of him straight at the other as the half that uppercutcomes straight back down, going in for another cut while using a gust behind the creature to help close the distance.

 

Gil just goes quiet, looking around.


"I thought you meant from your old reality, bitch." Abigail says, annoyed.


The boy nods, leading Ihra into the alley. A gross smell fills the air, probably from the dumpsters nearby.
